I love dumplings more than is probably healthy. I’ve said that a few times here, and the love-affair is probably not going to end anytime soon. They’re so good. I made these ones at home, and I’m a bit embarrassed at how unattractive they turned out. The good news is that they tasted awesome, and that’s what matters.
Ingredients
200g pork mince
1 cup finely chopped cabbage
2 spring onions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped or crushed
30 gow gee wrappers
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Method
♥ In a bowl place the mince, chopped cabbage, spring onion, sesame oil, soy sauce and garlic in a bowl. Mix until combined.
♥ Place a gow gee wrapper on a flat surface. Place a spoonful of the mince mixture onto the wrapper. Brush edges with cold water using your finder. Fold wrapper over to enclose filling. Press edges together to seal. Repeat with the remaining mince mixture and wrappers.
♥ Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Place half the vegetable oil in the pan and heat. Arrange half the dumplings in pan. Cook them for 1 to 2 minutes or until bases are browned. Add 1/2 cup hot water. Cover with lid. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until cooked through and wrappers have softened. Repeat with remaining oil and dumplings.
♥ Serve with a little soy sauce.

I just nearly licked my screen – YUM! Ever since I’ve had to go gluten-dairy-and-egg-free, dumplings are what I’ve been missing the most. Need to lock down a Sonia friendly version ASAP! x
You had me at dumplings. They don’t have to look pretty because they taste so good!

I made these for dinner last night, they were delish! I added a little ginger and added some apple cider vinegar to the soy sauce dipping sauce.
