Choc Peanut Butter Pretzels

This is the combo that you didn’t expect to blow your mind, but it will! Choc peanut butter pretzels are creamy, salty, and sweet at the same time, and it’s a little bit of magic in your mouth.

My neighbour Carol is one of my favourite people, she’s full of life, nearing her 80s and just fun. She’ll often show up with something she’s created, like on this one day I found her and Shane chatting on the driveway, and she had a plate of goodies in her hand.

She was asking for a favour, in return for her goodies, she was asking me to do something with technology (I can’t even remember what it was, I enamoured by the snacks). She handed the plate to Shane and we kept talking, and slowly I saw the snacks starting to dwindle… “What are you doing?”

He replied, a mouth full, “THESE ARE SO GOOD!”

I tried one of the choc peanut butter pretzels, and holy shit (there’s no other way to describe it sorry) they are so good! I got the recipe and made a batch the next weekend as my sister-in-law was coming to stay, and we all lost our minds at how good they are.

Salty pretzels.

Peanut butter.

Chocolate.

Heaven.

Because Christmas is just around the corner, I put a little Christmas spin on them with some sprinkles – but you do as you please – they certainly don’t need them.

Also, the mini pretzels are the way to go – the perfect size for popping into your mouth. But if you try the bigger pretzels, I definitely want to hear about it!

How to make Choc Peanut Butter Pretzels

STEP ONE: Line a tray with baking paper. Place the icing sugar, butter and peanut butter into a bowl and beat to mix together. Now, depending on what peanut butter you use and how soft it is, will depend on the consistency of the mixture. The mix should be able to roll into a ball with ease and not stick everywhere. If it does, place the mix in the fridge to harden slightly, or add more icing sugar to take away the tackiness.

STEP TWO: Roll the mixture into heaped teaspoon sized balls. Place between two pretzels and squish slightly. Place on a tray to set. Once you’ve used up all the mixture, place the pretzel bites into the fridge for a bit to set.

STEP THREE: Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Dip the pretzel bites into the chocolate so that half is covered. Place back onto the tray, and if you’re using them, sprinkle with sprinkles. Place into the fridge to set.
