I know it seems lazy to put potatoes in a slow cooker to cook, but you can’t knock it until you try it. They taste different. Better. They’re one of our favourite dinners. Easy, and delicous, and not messy at all.
Slow cooker baked potatoes
Ingredients
Large washed potatoes, as many as you have people in your family (for me that’s 3!)
Aluminum foil, to cover
Method
♥ Wash potatoes and dry thoroughly.
♥ Wrap in foil and place into the slow cooker.
♥ Cook on low for 8 hours, or until cooked through.
♥ Once cooked, top with your favourite toppings.
Note: We topped ours with low-fat cheese, sour cream, chives and some bacon.
Another note: You might be asking, do I need to put liquid in that slow cooker? Nope. You don’t. Just the spuds/potatoes in their foil and cook.
I have cheese, bacon, onion, coleslaw and sour cream. Delicious!
I will have to try this! I had a baked potato at a fancy steak restaurant on the weekend and the inside was so deliciously soft it was almost like mashed potato. Yum!
GREAT idea!
I’m doing this. Like, now.
What fancy stuff are you going to adorn your spud with? And I hope you’re feeling better soon. Winter can go now, right?
OOOOOOH I must try this.
Mashed avocado is a favourite of mine … yum!
Wow I never would have thought to put them in a slow cooker!
we do mexican spuds. use taco mince and add guacamole sour cream and salsa on top with a few corn chips
Yum! I want this NOW 🙂
I top my baked potatoes like my pizza, with lashings of tomato sauce and melty mozzarella cheese. It’s totally nom! Thanks for giving me another reason to love my slow cooker!
I love this king of potatoes but 8 hours are too long for my hungry belly :p
Creamed corn with bacon, shallots, sour cream and cheese, maybe some sweet chilli sauce
We do these outside in the firepit but I might try them in the slowcooker this weekend for a change! We top ours with mashed avo, sour light cream, chopped up ham, finely chopped onion and tomato. And maybe some grated cheese. It’s so yum!
Does it matter how big the potatoes are? Sounds like a great idea!
Fantastic idea!!
We normally top ours with leftover spag bol sauce, some coleslaw and sour cream.
This is happening this weekend!
Crivens, never heard of baking potatos like that before but I can tell they’d be great. Thanks missus.
I make a meal out of baked potatoes sometimes serving them with chilli or taco meat, salsa and cheese, sometimes serving them with broccoli and cheese topped with a few bacon bits or sunflower seeds, feta cheese with fresh cherry tomatoes and a little oregano……..the options are endless………
