Everyday Everybody: Simone.

Meet Simone. She’s the beautiful mother of Oliver who you see below. She’s also has a great blog over Life As A Goff. Simone is also the next person to be interviewed in the Everyday Everybody series.

Thanks for playing along Simone. If you too would like to play along, please email me at fatmumslim@hotmail.com

Are you sensible?

I like to think I am now. I have been very stupid in the past but have grown up and learnt. I do have my moments though.

Have you ever been flashed?
By a speed camera? Yes. On my first day back living in Australia. Not Happy Jan. Flashed by a streaker? Yes and have also flashed others before on a drunken night out in Manly.

Can you use chopsticks?
No. Tried. Failed. Many Times. I hate myself for not being able to use them. I am usually the only one that has to ask for a fork and I hate that as I hate failing.

What is your most uncomfortable piece of clothing?
I would have to say my swimmers (bathers for the non Aussies). I am quite big breasted and when I tried them on in the shops, they were fine. However, when I go in the sea and go through a wave, the top falls down. Every time. Without fail.

Have you ever said I Love You without meaning it?
No never. I have said I love you to many people in my past who at the time I did love. I say it a lot more these days to my parents, sisters , hubby and Oliver. My heart just melts when Oliver says ‘Love you Mummy’ back to me. It makes me all squishy inside.

Whose was the last wedding you attended?
Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the last wedding we were invited to as Oliver was not invited and we had no baby sitter. It was my husband’s cousin’s wedding in London. It was a very ritzy and formal wedding held near the Thames River. Morning suits were a MUST. The last wedding before that was an old work colleague of mine who was married 2 weeks after Oliver was born. Let’s just say I was not relaxed and pleased to get home.

What’s your favourite sound?
Definitely waves crashing. If the ocean is quite rough, I can hear it from my parents place late at night and I just love it. It is so peaceful and relaxing.

Do you talk to yourself?
Sometimes. I even talk in my sleep sometimes too. Now that I am not working, I don’t talk to myself much anymore.

What are you like when you’re drunk?
I don’t get drunk very often anymore and if I do, it is usually in the presence of just my husband. In my uni days and post uni, I had many nights out where I was loud, flirty and entertaining. Those days are long gone now though, thank god.

What reading matter is currently beside your bed?
I have just returned from living in the UK for the last 6 years so right now I am catching up on trashy Australian magazines (my favourite is NW) and some home inspiration magazines. i have a couple of light hearted books to read after I catch up on everything in the magazines first.

thanks for sharing my answers telle.

ivy, yep i am guilty of the odd flashing in my late teens. i blame my peers. if you happened to be around manly golf course in the mid to late 90’s and were flashed, it was probably me or my friends. haha
