This 3 ingredient banana bread is one of the easiest things you’ll ever bake. No butter, no eggs, no mixer, and barely any washing up. Just ripe bananas, a tin of condensed milk, and self-raising flour.
It’s the kind of recipe that feels almost too simple to work… but somehow it does. The bananas make it soft and sweet, the condensed milk adds richness, and the flour brings it all together into the perfect loaf.

Step-by-step instructions
- Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a loaf tin well so the banana bread doesn’t stick.
- Mash the bananas
Place the ripe bananas into a large bowl and mash them with a fork.
You can also blitz them quickly in a food processor if you want a smoother texture. - Mix the ingredients
Add the condensed milk and self-raising flour to the mashed bananas.
Mix everything together until just combined. Try not to overmix the batter. - Pour into the loaf tin
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf tin and smooth the top with a spoon.

- Bake the banana bread
Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
- Cool and slice
Allow the banana bread to cool slightly before slicing.
Serve warm or toasted with butter if you like.
