Everyday Everybody: Jordan.

Hi there.

It’s Wednesday… and that means it’s time to meet someone new. Let’s get to know Jordan a little better. What a great idea.

Jordan blogs over at Hey Peppermint. After you’ve finished getting to know her here, pop over there and get to know her a little better.

Are you addicted to anything?
I have a very special obsession with postsecret. No matter how bad my week is, every Sunday it manages to cheer me up. I always find relevance in them, there are so many that touch me and remind me to always be grateful.

What day of your life would you happily relive?
The first ‘date’ I ever went on with my boyfriend, and my cousin and her friend tagged along. It was so awkward. But looking back on it now, it seems just perfect. We walked around and got Red Rooster. The part I’d relive is when he hugged me first, I fit just perfectly. My head fits right under his head, we’re the perfect heights. We’ve been together for three years now and I couldn’t be happier.

What was the first CD/record you ever bought?
Wow, I think it was a Shania Twain album. I was obsessed with the song “Man, I Feel Like A Woman”. Anything I bought after that consisted of the ‘So Fresh’ compilations. I have much better taste now though, although that could be questioned too.

What’s your all-time favourite meal?
There are so many I could write down. I love wonton noodle soup, big bowls of pasta and enormous amounts of pavlova.

What’s your greatest fear?
Heights.I hate being anywhere that’s remotely high.I think it came from being on the Rialto Tower when I was little. My Mum took me onto the balcony, and told me to look down. Since I can remember, whenever I can see how far up I am, I get the buckling knees thing and butterflies in the stomach.

What song is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor?
Give me a bit of “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham or some classic Michael Jackson tunes and I’ll be doing my whole attempting-to-dance thing.

Who’s the worst boss you’ve ever worked for?
(This one’s a bit hard, I’ve only ever really had two jobs) My Mum always told me you don’t mix family and work. It’s ironic because the first job i ever had was at my Aunty’s business and unfortunately she took the title for worst boss ever. I think it was because she wasn’t my lovely, caring aunty I was used to. She was kinda like the mean boss, who made the youngest (being me) do all of the cliche’ getting the coffee’s and running ridiculous errands. I didn’t last long, I was a really useless when it came to filing.

Can you use chopsticks?
My Japanese teacher in Primary School put lollies in a bowl one day. All of us little kiddies lined up as he taught us how to use chopsticks to pick up gummi bears. I still remember going home and showing Mum, I was so proud. I resort to some stabbing with chopsticks when we go out to Yum Cha, bu I’m better than most.

What makes you cry?
This is a tough one. Songs that tug at my heart strings, songs that make me feel something all over again. At my great grandmothers funeral they played “You Raise Me Up” by Westlife. Whenever I hear that song, I cry. She was someone very, very special to me.

What was the first gig you ever went to?
Kylie Minogue. I was absolutely and utterly in love with her. I sang “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” into my hairbrush, wishing that when I grew up I would be just like Kylie. It was one of the best concerts and to this day, I can still remember all of the lyrics.

Thanks Jordan. I love that your teacher made you learn how to use chopsticks like that. So cute.

I also love reading these interviews. I really do. Thanks for playing along. xx

Email me at: fatmumslim@hotmail.com if you would like to play along too.

  1. Fabulous interview and I'm so going to steal that trick and teach the dude how to use chopsticks when the time comes. He'll be eating sushi with mommy in no time.

  2. I think it's great to teach them young.

The littlest girl that I look after was using them at a young age. I would take her to Thai for lunch and she would sit eating baby corn with her chopsticks. Everyone around us was gobsmacked… and I must say I was pretty proud at how well she would do it.

I'm not sure if she can still do it now. She was a pro back then though.

I will try and do the same with Lacey. 🙂
