Easy Maple & Cinnamon Donuts Recipe

I’ve never met a donut I didn’t like, and these are no exception. Make them, bake them, and have them on the table in less than 30 minutes. Brush them with a little maple butter, and dip them in cinnamon sugar, and you’ve got yourself the best donut EVER. Pin for later!

I don’t know a person that doesn’t like donuts. C’mon, that doughy goodness and the sugar hit. I used to work in a shopping centre {Rockmans, FTW} and one late Thursday night the donut shop across from us had a plethora of donuts leftover and they gave them to me. Like the BIGGEST bag you ever did see. Probably 50 donuts. I took those babies home and my family thought I was the bomb. We ate some, we froze some, we enjoyed the sugar high.

Making donuts at home always seems like hard work though, especially if they involve a deep fryer. I noticed at the supermarket that one of the magazines {Better Homes & Gardens} came with a free donut tray, and I had to have it. So I bought it, and I made some donuts with it. If you live in Australia you MUST do the same. They’re good. They take 10 minutes to cook, and they’re THE BOMB. Also, you don’t need a deep fryer. AWESOME!

Easy Maple & Cinnamon Donuts Recipe

3/4 cup plain flour
1/3 cup caster sugar
2 tsp baking powder
60g butter, melted
1 free range egg
120ml milk

50g butter, melted
1 tbs maple syrup
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 tbs cinnamon

♥ Preheat your own to 180ºC. Spray the donut tin with cooking oil.
♥ Place the flour, sugar, baking powder and butter into a large bowl.
♥ Add the egg and milk, and whisk to combine.
♥ Spoon half the mixture into a zip-lock bag and cut the corner off.
♥ Pipe the mixture evenly into the tin and bake for 10 minutes.
♥ Wash and dry the tin. Spray with oil, and pipe the rest of the mixture into the holes. Bake for 10 minutes.
♥ Place the melted butter in a bowl, and mix with maple syrup. Place the sugar and cinnamon on a plate, and mix to combine. While the donuts are still warm, brush them with the melted butter mix, and then coat with the sugar mix. Enjoy!

    These look amahzing and my mob would certainly love them! I missed the mag deal, any idea where I could buy a donut tray?

  • Still haven’t found a donut tray (when I went to Big W to buy one they were all sold out and I haven’t made it back since…sad face..) but when I do get my hands on one, I will need to make these Chantelle!! (Happy face!)
