Super-easy Snickers Rocky Road

I hadn’t planned on sharing this but it was so super easy and amazing that it felt naughty not to. There’s a story to this Snickers Rocky Road, so bear with me while I take you through it’s origins. Soo…. recently I organised the Social Media Secret Santa where around 140 bloggers & twitterers swapped Christmas gifts. As a thank you for organising it a lovely lady named Amy sent me some rocky road. You can see where this is going.

It was THE most delicious rocky road I’ve ever tasted. Hubby declared the same. So I thanked her, and then saw that she was tweeting about the recipe. So I followed a link and found myself at my friend Lorraine’s site, with my eyes on the recipe. Hubby sent me to the shops in a hurry for the ingredients. We made some changes – used chopped nuts and added some raspberry lollies {and halved the marshmallow quantity}.

You can find the recipe here. I’m making it for my family Kris Kringle. I know she’ll love it. If she doesn’t, well I know a few other people that will happily gobble it up {Hubby & I!}.

Do you ever give food as gifts? If so, what are your favourite recipes?

  1. Ooh I'm so glad that you liked it lovely! 🙂 It's one of those things that just worked on the first attempt-although I was all set to test it out a few times to get it right 😉 I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! xxx

  2. So glad you shared it, thanks! : D The best kind of rocky road- the edible kind.

I love giving food as gifts, from the moment you decide what to make to the moment you nervously find out whether it worked, wrapping it up nicely and hearing how they liked it!

My favourite so far is the coconut ice I recently posted about. However everyone liked the beetroot relish and now I've had a request to make lemon curd!

  3. Oh I am so glad you guys enjoyed the treats! Lorraine is an absolute genius with this recipe and I have been making it for everyone ever since she posted it! It's the perfect little morsel of chocolate, caramel and peanuts!

Thank you for organising the Secret Santa. It was such fun putting together a gift for someone on the other side of the world and I was incredibly spoilt by my generous secret santa too.

I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas.

  4. Oh YUM. Food as gifts is such an easy and thoughtful idea. I don't do it very often, but when I do, it's always appreciated. If I have time, I might have to make a batch of this rocky road for Christmas lunch. Thanks for sharing 🙂 xxx

  5. YUM – definitely think that is something we will be trying out over this break for when visitors pop in. Thanks for sharing it with us !

  6. Looks delish, will have to try. I love to give food as gifts, mainly at christmas. I did my own quick version this year, made for our boxing day bash with my sister and bro-in-law, which was forgotten at the back of the fridge… what a shame. I have had to eat the whole thing myself. Block of Old Gold Toffee, block of Cadbury Macadamia, handful of pistachios, handful of dried sweetened cranberries, handful of large marshmallows halved. Deliciously decadent!

  7. I often make mini christmas cakes or puddings as gifts for friends family colleagues teachers etc. so easy and so appreciated when it is home made goodies they are receiving. Will definetly be trying this one.
