Your favourite thing about the silly season…
is having time off and being able to do as I please. Usually we go for a week away somewhere but this year we are just going to hang around at home. I love getting together with family and just laughing ourselves silly.
I am excited that this will be Lacey’s first Christmas. I know she won’t really get it, but I am overexcited all the same!
Traditional or contemporary… this year we will be having a contemporary Christmas. We are celebrating with a dinner (or you could call it a feast) on Christmas Eve night. Christmas morning we are having everyone over for present swapping and a BBQ breakfast.
Tips for a calm Christmas Day… try not to travel too much. As a kid we used to travel from one place to the other (which was sometimes a 2 hour commute) and it was so hot and yukky. Now we usually spend the Christmas at home with everyone over. This year though we are heading to Hubby’s parents which is an hour and bit flight away.
Top of your Christmas list… I really want a Gardenia scented candle. I can’t see anything under the tree of that shape so I might just buy myself one in the new year.
Five ingredients in your supermarket trolley… I am in charge of making the dessert for our Christmas (Eve) dinner. I will make two chocolate pavlovas. So in my trolley will be organic bio-dynamic eggs, dark chocolate, lite cream, cocoa and balsamic vinegar.
Best Christmas leftover dish… I love ham sandwiches so using up the leftover ham sounds good to me!
Most memorable Christmas meal… I don’t really remember the food, more so the company and the laughs we had.
I’d love to hear how you are celebrating this Christmas. Please share here in the comments or on your own blog (leave a comment to let me know so I can come over and have a sticky beak!). xx
That chocolate pavlova looks divine! I’d love the recipe if you don’t mind Telle? xoxo
Gardenia’s are one of my favourites along side Jasmine…such a pretty scent.xx
Christmas will be spent here in Singers. We’re off to our close friends for lunch and then we’re all going to watch ‘Australia’ at Gold Class.
We’ll also be setting up the webcam for some Christmas cheer via the ‘www’ with the family back home!
Merry Christmas.xx
Both Jen’s think alike, that dessert looks amazing – can you link to a recipe?

G – That sounds like a lovely Chrismas. I love the idea of watching a movie together. xx
christmas for us will be spent with the in laws in doors as it will be too cold to do anything else. a few drinks and then hubby and his father will be too tired so they will sit in front of the television and it will be boring. watching oliver with all his presents will be my entertainment.
Sounds like you can’t wait Simone! Next year will be different. xx
I’m hoping for Rock Band 2 on Wii for us this year! I’d have gotten it myself and wrapped it, but the hubby wanted to ask his mom for it instead. =)
I think it is GREAT that you’re excited for your lovely daughter’s first Christmas!!
First Christmas’ are always great because its never about the presents!
My mom is flying to spend time with my brother in Austin, but my parents in law are driving up from Florida this year – we haven’t had Christmas with them for 8 years!
Looking forward to it!
Thanks for the recipe Telle xo
I love it even better that it’s one of Nigella’s!
Dorsey – I hope ‘Santa’ gets you what you want. Funny. I can already imagine you rockin’ it out on Wii. Go girl!
Biz – Enjoy your Christmas. I’m glad you’re looking forward to it.
Jen – I hope it goes well. I’ll stalk your blog until I see a report on it! x
