Rad looks for little lads

Brought to you by next.

I was talking on the phone just yesterday, sorting out our health insurance, and the guy on the other end was taking the details of my family. When I got to telling him that we had two girls he said with a tone of sarcasm, “Oh gosh, your husband must be impressed.”

Hubby doesn’t mind actually. He’s so in love with the girls, and happy with our family, that it doesn’t bother him that he’s completely outnumbered. I, on the other hand and as fickle as it may be, would love to dress a little boy. I used to love dressing the boys I looked after as a nanny, and really miss being able to do that.

So, it goes without saying that I had a little bit of fun shopping for you guys over at next, and picking out some of my favourites from the boys section. They’ve got the perfect mix of boyish, and fun, with a whole lotta cool thrown in too {and no crude slogans across the t-shirts, winning!}.

I’ve been loving testing out the quality with the next clothing range, and almost every time that the girls wear one of their next outfits someone will ask where it’s from. That makes me smile, but I’m more stoked that they wash well. My pet peeve is clothing that loses shape after one wash. It makes me want to cry.

Because I’m without a little boy to dress-up, I borrowed my little nephew Maverick. We went through and picked some outfits that we thought would look great on him, and they did.

He’s wearing the little monkey t-shirt and denim shorts {similar}.

And here he’s rocking the little shark swim shorts. So cute!

I also had a look around next and picked out my favourites. That little egg suit has made me clucky {get it?}. ?

BOYS

EGG SUIT | BACKPACK | CAP | SURFBOARD SWIM SHORTS | LITTLE BRO SUIT | STAR SHIRT | BANANA FACE T-SHIRT | MUSTARD JEANS | DENIM JEANS | BLUE SHOES | MONKEY SWEATER | BROWN SHOES | DENIM SHORTS {2 for $21} | DENIM SHIRT | SWIM SUIT | SOCKS

I know this post is meant to be all about the boys, but I couldn’t help myself. Sorry. Look at this sweet swimsuit.

This dress is just gorgeous. It’s got beautiful sequins over the front, in a really subtle way. See it here.

A hot tip too! With the new school year about to start, a lot of readers told me they buy school shoes from Next, so be sure to check out their range as well. You can see them here for boys and girls here.

Which is your favourite from the boys collection?

P.S. Stay tuned… because soon someone is going to be winning a new wardrobe!

  1. Love your choices! Especially the monkey jumper and the denim shoes… And the mustard coloured jeans and…
I’m loving having a mini-man to dress but seriously how rude of your insurance guy? There’s nothing sweeter than daddies with their little girls!

  2. Oh my oh my…. MUSTARD JEANS ??? I really do consider myself super lucky to have a girl and a boy and I LOVE dressing my boy up real spunky! I love a cute pair of shorts with a collared shirt and converse chucks! Cuuuuute.

  3. We love Next too! Delivery is so quick! I actually get my daughter school uniforms from Next as they are different to Australian ones and she loves being a bit different to her friends.

  4. I have two boys, we got a lot of hand me down Next clothing and I bought lots too (we lived in the UK then). It’s still going strong and ready to be passed on again. Not only is their stuff super cute, it’s great quality and lasts forever (if you can get the stains out!).

  5. Oh wow I hadn’t even thought about whether Next delivered in Australia – I just assumed it was UK only. It’s the shop that I’ve been missing most since moving from the UK as the kids clothes are just awesome – good value and they last til they grow out of them (and with 6yo twin boys, that’s impressive!) I’m now feeling very excited *runs to find credit card*.

  6. Those little brown shoes are fab. We used to buy from Next a lot when we lived in London and the clothes were super durable.
