Today I want to introduce you to a friend of mine, Ante. Ante is one of the most talented photographers I know, and I wish I could have just a little bit of his brilliance. Best of all, he’s the sweetest, most modest person I’ve ever met. Don’t you love when brilliant people are good people too? I do.
Tell us a little about you.
Ante is my name and Sydney is my playground. I work in the Community space for Olympus Imaging Australia. When I am not taking photos I am always planning my next adventure.
How did you get into photography or photo-taking? When did it all begin for you?
My dad gave me my first camera at the age of 10, it was at this early age that photography became my one true form of expression. It allows me to uncover and capture the finer details that are taken for granted and truly be in the moment.
What do you love taking photos of most?
I enjoy the simple things in life, I can only assume this is why I am creatively drawn to minimalism. I like clean skies, lines, colours and isolating subjects to show off their true beauty.
What are your favourite Apps for editing?
‘Snapseed’ for quick edits and to remove unwanted objects
‘VSCO’ to create mood and make the subject pop
‘Darkroom’ to adjust contrast, sharpness and curves
Can you share a recent favourite photo of yours – and take us through how you edited it?
I took this photo in Melbourne with my Olympus OM-D E-M1. The image was transferred to my iPhone 6 Plus via the inbuilt Wi-Fi feature in the Olympus. In Snapseed I used the ‘transform’ feature to straighten the horizon and removed an unwanted object using the ‘selective’ tool. Finally in VSCO I applied the C2 present.
Thanks for chatting Ante. Follow Ante on Instagram to see more of his brilliant photography.
