No-Bake Mars Bar Slice

If you weren’t craving a piece of No Bake Mars Bar Slice before you arrived here, now you will. It’s the ultimate airy treat, with its crunchy, gooey base, and creamy chocolate topping.

There’s one recipe that I’ve been making since forever, and I was surprised to find that I haven’t yet shared this recipe on my blog. It’s totally blog-worthy. Mars Bar slice is probably one of the first things I ever made as a teen, because it’s so easy to make and doesn’t even require the strenuous task of turning the oven on. I remember even making it when I was a nanny and taking it to school for the parent/teacher get togethers and somehow convincing all the teachers that it was healthy because of all the air in the rice bubbles. Crazy, but true.

So while I don’t think this would tick any healthy boxes with it’s generous combination of chocolate, butter, Mars Bars with scrumptious caramel and nougat, it ticks everything else for me!

If you’ve never heard of Mars Bars before, they’re an Australian chocolate bar with layers of nougat and caramel, covered in chocolate.

No Bake Mars Bar Slice Recipe

  • Author: Chantelle

Ingredients

Scale

4 x 53g Mars Bars, chopped
1 tablespoon golden syrup
80g butter, chopped
3 cups Rice Bubbles
250g milk chocolate

Instructions

  1. Line a slice tray with baking paper.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the Mars Bars, the butter and golden syrup. Stir over low heat, until the mixture is smooth {I use a whisk for the end because the nougat in the Mars Bar is harder to break down}.
  3. Place the Rice Bubbles into a large bowl, and add the melted Mars Bar mixture. Stir until combined, and then press into the prepared tin. Place into the fridge.
  4. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, in 20 seconds bursts, stirring each time until completely melted. Pour over evenly over slice.
  5. Chill for an hour, and slice into small squares.
