Letter to Luella: 22 months
Well, actually I should say Lulu because that’s what we call you, mostly. Our Lulu.
I am so in love with you. You are so easy to love, and to parent, and just really enjoy. You make it easy to be your mum. For the most part you’re happy, unless you’re hungry… but that’s easy to fix.
We’ve just spent a few weeks traveling, and I know you probably won’t remember it… but I’m going to remind you when you’re older. During our week at Disney you just said the word ‘FUN!’ a lot and raised your hands in the air with enthusiasm.
You’re a great speaker. You seem to be doing everything earlier, which is helped by having an older sister, I’m sure. I can have conversations with you now, which I love. Each morning you like to say, “Morning Mum” and then as each person slowly rises in our family you’ll great them, “Morning Lacey”, “Morning Dad” and “Morning Bronte”. With your little voice it’s pretty much the cutest thing ever.
You actually say Lacey now. Well it’s more ‘Acey’ but for so long you resisted… I think just to tease your sister, but now you’ve started saying it you’ll never stop.
You’re not the best sharer. You like to let people know that something is yours, and yours only.
You’ve got beautiful manners. You’ll say ‘thank you’ when you’re given something, and ‘sorry’ if you’ve hurt someone or done something wrong.
You never stop. Ever. You go from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. You love to draw… on the walls, on your face, on furniture.
For a long time I didn’t think that two children would be enough for me, that I’d always have this yearning for more babies and children and mum moments. My heart is so full for love for you and Lacey, that I think you’re both more than enough. I feel complete and happy and just joyful. I feel lucky.
You bring so much joy to my life, but you bring it to others as well. You’re that sweet toddler that people stop to watch as you pass them by, because you’re sweet and happy and funny. You have such an awesome sense of humour.
You’re also a bit of a performer. You love to sing, and your favourite at the moment is Let It Go from the Frozen movie. You sing it loudly, and throw your arms around in the air. CUTEST THING EVER.
I just love you so much, and I hope you feel loved from your hair follicles to your tiny toes. I do. You are so loved.
Love Mama. xx
