Letter to Lacey: Seventeen Months.

O

h boy. How did you get to almost one and a HALF? Where has the time gone? Where is my wee little baby?

I have to say you’re cuter than ever. So cute, that my words just won’t do your cuteness justice. You chatter on and on. Sometimes I hear words that I understand, other times I swear you’re speaking a foreign language. You’re so expressive too. You use your face, voice and hands to tell the story. I could listen to you for hours {oh, I already do!}.

How do you like to spend your days? Chatting, dancing, singing, playing and especially drawing. If you see a pen or pencil… you want it and you want it now. You demand that you have it. It’s really hard to say no. You’ll grab a piece of paper from where ever you can source one, and then you draw. Sometimes on the paper. Sometimes on yourself. Sometimes on the couch {which used to be white}.

You love to be outside. You’ll grab your sun hat and stand at the door, making us feel guilty if we have things we need to do at home. If someone leaves through that front door {the porthole to all things exciting and new} and they don’t take you then we’re in trouble. Big trouble.

You’re sleeping. I know I’m going to jinx everything here… but you’re becoming quite a good little sleeper. I think we deserve it, and I’m so grateful when you give us a good night’s sleep.

We love you Miss Lacey. Thank you for bringing so much love, light and joy into our lives. xx

  1. How sweet. My little girl will be 17 months in a couple of weeks. She is very much the same way. She writes on herself every chance she gets and hollers “go, go, I anna go outside” every time anyone goes near the door, or puts on shoes, or does anything whatsoever that makes her think they are headed out the door. I know the exact adoration you are feeling because I'm feeling it too. Love, love, love my little bit as I know you do too!! Well, it's bedtime where I'm at so Goodnight!!

  2. What a beautiful little princess. My baby just turned six on 9/5 so I tell you this…enjoy her because she will grow up too fast. I know that sounds so silly but it's the truth.

  3. @Penny: So cute! Aren't they growing so quickly our girls?

    @Elizabeth: I know, it scares me, very muchly!

    @AussieWaffler: As would I! x

    @Simone: Spot on! 😉
