Checking In.

S

o it’s been a week since we embarked on a healthier us {otherwise known as Operation: Fat Mum Slim} and I’d love to know how you are doing.

I weighed in this morning and I’ve lost a kilogram. I wish it was more, but I think it’s probably pretty spot on. I ate well, but not perfect. I did well with my goals and am ready to set some new ones.

I need to tread carefully because usually by the second week I lose faith in myself and sometimes get a little cocky.

My goals for the week are:
♥ eat 2 fruits + 5 vegetables daily
♥ up the water intake
♥ exercise 4 times

{+ of course no midnight drunk texting with chocolate or diet coke – we’re still broken up}

Also a little tip for those with the afternoon sugar cravings. Look into chromium. You take it with your lunch, or an hour or so before you usually get a sweet craving and it helps a little.

Tell me how you did. Inspire me with your new goals. Go on. xx

  1. You did great! Me, well not so great. I had a mother's group night out without the kids and the girls and I ate greek food – I couldn't not eat too as I would've had major food envy. And also, a night out with hubby and I made terrible food choices. Considering this though, I still lost 0.5 kgs.

Goals this week: start a fresh, make good choices, more water.

  2. My mother has been here for the weekend so I totally pigged out with her (picnic at the zoo, another picnic at the park which involved ice-cream, big fat cheese platter today …). I won't see her again til Christmas so we were just out to enjoy ourselves. But I ate well during the week and got to the gym four times …

This week will be better; I've loaded up on fruit and veg and other healthy options, and have no excuses not to get into the gym. My goal is to get to the gym four times, NOT buy any food or eat out this week (need to save money and don't want to waste the food I've got here!), and hopefully lose a kilo by next Tuesday. A kilo is heaps, there's no way you should be disappointed that you only lost 1kg!

  3. Had a bit of an ordinary week, so my routine was completely thrown out. Husband's grandfather passed away so it was a flurry of organisation to go to central NSW to get to the funeral.

All considering I haven't eaten too badly and am spring cleaning this week, so I think the exertion of cleaning like a demon has to be worth a bit.

  4. @DaniV: I think that's a great effort. Pat on the back for you! x

@She's Rambling: I hope this week is better, but last week sounds like a whole lot of fun!

@Jaime: I am sorry to hear you had such a hard time. x

    @Jessi: Welcome aboard! Yay. 🙂

  5. I failed miserably! But still managed to lose 1kg some how. It is a miracle really.

    Next weeks goals:
    – 1 hour walk on every nice weather day
    – No eating of Zoe's scraps
    – Control my portion sizes
    – Limit myself to one cupcake!

Hope I go better this week!

  6. Not a bad week besides fathers day BBQ, exercised 3 times, broke up with choc freddos, but not emotionally ready to break up with diet coke… cant do it just yet…this week def 🙂

  7. This weeks goals:

    1. When i'm out for a walk i'd like to stop at the park and do my tricep dips and pull ups

    2. Keep drinking my water

    3. Finish filling out some government forms 🙁

    4. Be kind to myself

  8. Congrats on the loss Chantelle!

I didn't do as well as I would have liked, come Thursday everything just started to fall apart. This week however my goals are:
    – stick to the menu plan
    – walking on the weekend.

  9. HI!!!
I did ok with my goals. tom came so did not lose anything. BUT ready for a new week and new goals.

Have made lots of lovely healthy soups.

    SO goals this week.

    *EAT healthy dont overeat!
    *WALK WALK WALK!
    *Lots of water
*Take each day at a time.

    Well done with your loss!!

  10. Goals:
    Water, water, water
Walk on lunch hour, even if it's raining
    Lots of healthy stuff
    Gym 3 evenings

It was a difficult week, as we had a wedding to go to, and I had a few evening meetings (where everyone brought goodies) as well. I avoided the sweets, but had way too many carbs. Oh well. Must be kind to myself and start again tomorrow.

Well done, Chantelle! Keep up the good work. You've inspired me to get back on track.

  11. Nice job Chantelle! I think one kilo is great. Good think I'm a nurse cuz I'm working thru in my head…1kg = 2.2lbs.

My overzealous diet went splat, however, I have not had a soda since last Monday and that's huge!

The goal for this week is to keep upping the water intake, use the ellytipcal in my bedroom (right now it's a clothes hanger) or walk, and eat more fruits and veggies.

    Good luck!

  12. So far, so ok… (and I know I'm late checking in too!)

You did far better than me – though I'm staying away from the scales otherwise it makes me obsessive.

So far I'm drinking more water, going to yoga again and have only driven to work once in a week and a half. Still need to get brave enough to put my gym trainers back on… maybe by next Monday I will have!

Keep up the good work x
