Cute & creepy Halloween chocolate bark

Make this fun and easy Halloween chocolate bark with just two ingredients and your favourite spooky toppings! The perfect Halloween treat for kids, parties, and trick-or-treat fun.

Halloween is hands down one of the most fun times of the year for making silly, spooky treats — and this one couldn’t be easier. Chocolate bark is the ultimate throw-together recipe: melt some chocolate, scatter on your favourite lollies, sprinkles or candy eyes, and you’ve got yourself the cutest and creepiest Halloween snack.

This is the kind of recipe the kids will love helping with, and it’s also perfect for parties, treat bags, or just having a bit of fun in the kitchen. The best bit? You only need two things: chocolate and toppings.

Why you’ll love this recipe

  • 🎃 So easy – it’s basically melt, decorate, set, done.
  • 👀 Spooky + cute – those little candy eyes peeking out make everyone smile.
  • 🍫 Customisable – use any chocolate and any toppings you like.
  • 🧑‍🍳 Kid-friendly – perfect for little hands to help scatter and decorate.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 x blocks of chocolate (I used Cadbury, but homebrand cooking chocolate works just as well)
  • Toppings of your choice – think candy eyes, gummy worms, spiders, sprinkles, or even broken up biscuits

How to make Halloween Bark:

1. Melt the chocolate

Break your chocolate into pieces and pop it into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth and melted.

2. Spread it out

Line a baking tray with baking paper. Pour the melted chocolate on top and spread it out evenly with a spatula.

3. Add your spooky toppings

Now for the fun bit! Sprinkle over all your decorations – candy eyes, gummy worms, Halloween sprinkles, lollies, or whatever creepy-cute treats you have on hand.

4. Chill and set

Pop the tray into the fridge for about an hour, or until the chocolate is firm.

5. Break into pieces

Once set, break the bark into random shards. Don’t worry about neatness – the more jagged, the better.

Halloween doesn’t have to be complicated — sometimes the simplest ideas are the best (and the tastiest!). This chocolate bark is proof that with a couple of blocks of chocolate and some spooky sprinkles, you can create something that looks fun, gets the kids excited, and disappears in minutes.
