Friday Fling.

It’s hard to believe but this little baby (my blog) is a year old today. A year ago I was still nursing my own new little baby, before starting fat mum slim on a whim. I did it just as something to do. Breastfeeding seemed to take forever, and often Lacey would sleep in my lap. I’d blog one handed, and about pretty much nothing at all. And here I am now. Doing pretty much the same thing. Writing about nothing. Typing as Lacey is in the sweet land of slumber.

Some days I wonder why I do it. And when I don’t for a few days or two… I miss it. I realise I do it for me. It’s my little creative outlet. I’m proud of this little space I’ve created. I’ve loved watching it grow, and blossom, as I do with my own child. I’ve loved the relationships formed with other bloggers, through comments here. Thank you all for being part of fat mum slim. You really make it such a nice place to write.

I have a little treat in the works, but haven’t been able to give it as much time as I would like. So stay tuned for that next week.

Moving on … I’ve had such a lovely week. The kids are just so happy to be on holidays, and it’s such a nice energy to be around. I am so, so lucky to do what I do. I really am. I don’t like to talk about work too much here, but I just want to say that the kids that I care for … are simply the best kids. They make me laugh, and smile each day. I never tire of being around them. And Lacey loves them so much. I am so lucky.

How was your week? What sort of wonderfuls did you experience this week?

My three wonderfuls from the week are:

1. Laughing constantly, all week. Between Lacey and her groovy little dance moves, and the kids sharing their sense of humours… well I don’t think I’ve stopped laughing all week.

2. Hubby just being Hubby. I am so lucky to have him. He’s so thoughtful. He cooks dinner every night, and even when he’s on night shift he makes sure he’s made a plate of something for Lacey and I to have when he’s not here. It makes life so much easier. ♥

3. Lacey sleeping through the night the other night. I checked her mouth the other day, and she has two molars through, and two more about to come through. Even when she does wake, she is easier to settle. The night she slept through just made such a difference. I was so proud. We’ll get there.

I would love to hear how your week was. Please share.

And have a lovely weekend, whatever your weekend holds, I hope it’s filled with much love, light and happiness. xx

  1. My 3 wonderfuls:

1.) Getting told today that I have a promotion of sorts. More responsibility – good for resume.

2.) Driving my new Porsche with the roof down at all times, as it never rains here (but had to put roof on yesterday as it was seriously 50 degrees and i was melting into a swimming pool on my leather seats. charming!

3.) Loving my fitness bootcamp. I got camper of the day for the second time. I love fitness!

    GREECE IN ONE WEEK!!!!

  2. Happy birthday to your beautiful blog! Since discovering it I check it regularly and you always have such pretty pictures and wonderful stories. Congratulations! Dianne

  3. Happy Birthday, Chantelle's blog!!! It's a lovely space indeed that you've created and I love coming here 🙂

Funny, I'm sitting here, typing one-handed as I feed my little bub, thinking of how I started blogging for the exactly the same reason as you!

My three wonderfuls this week? I'll see what happens today and post about it tonight 🙂

  4. Happy blog birthday! I'm kind of the same with blogging… sometimes I really do question why I do it but I do also miss it when I don't do it.

This week has been a bit sucky so struggling to think of wonderfuls… maybe riding my bike, the other half taking me to a funny movie to try and cheer me up, and the kitties being their mad, little eccentric selfs 😉

  5. Happy bloggy birthday – you're a good blogger – I forgot my blog's birthday…

I'm loving your lovely things for the week. Mine?
    1. My two utterly fabulous op-shop buys today
    2. Getting more work and actually meeting two killer deadlines
    3. the lone camelia flowering amidst all the deep green glossy leaves. So pretty.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  6. Happy blogeversary!

    My 3

    1. Zoe learning what the word 'kiss' means.
    2. Getting some decent night sleeps in.
    3. Getting my new oven delivered – w00t!

  7. Happy birthday blog! It is such a lovely space you have created. Instead I am going to HOPE for these three lovely things
    1. Both my kids sleep through the ENTIRE night
    2. I get to sleep through the entire night (you were so lucky to get one night)
    3. My children start to understand 3am is not morning time!! Fingers crossed.

  8. Happy 1 year! I just found your blog on GGC. This post resonates. I blog for me! I would love to avoid therapy because any more doctors appointments when you have little kids is 1 too many. I've got a 1 year old with teeth coming in and my kiddos are hysterically funny (if frustrating at times). I definitely blogged 1 handed when Miles was little. Lots of typos but man – it is a skill to breast feed and type anything at all! I'm glad I found your blog!
