Crockpot Sticky Chicken Nibbles Recipe

Food & Drink /

Brought to you in partnership with Crockpot.

As a mega fan of cooking shows {they’re my jam!} I’ve always been intrigued with pressure cookers. All the chefs rave about them, and how time efficient they are and how they jam-pack flavour into a meal in a small window of time. I wanted in.

I also secretly wanted to experience that cool thing where they open the valve and let the steam out. I might watch TOO many cooking shows. I’m letting my crazy show. Sshhhh.
The kind people at Crock-Pot sent me one of their Crock-Pot Express Crock Multi Cooker’s to try out. They retail for only $149, but they can do pretty much everything; pressure cook, steam, slow cook, make yoghurt and even saute. To put it to the test, I decided to make sticky chicken wings, a family favourite.

These take only five minutes to cook in the pressure cooker, and then for extra crisp I tossed them in the air fryer for ten minutes… meanwhile the marinade sauteed in the Crock-Pot and got super sticky and delicious. You are going to want to bottle that sauce up and drown EVERYTHING in it. These are going to be your new favourite meal.

The great thing is that you can also cook rice in the Crock-Pot so you can make this a super fast mid-week meal for the whole family. And I mean SUPER fast. There are so many meals that you can smash out in mere minutes, which is what we want, right? We want quick, and fast! What it means is that we’re spending less time slaving over pots and pans {chuck it in, and let it cook quickly} and more time hanging with the family, eating and chatting. Then because it specialises in one-pot meals, you don’t have a gazillion things to wash up! More time for family. I’m seriously in love, and it’s gonna be getting a serious workout at my house from here on in!

I have a really great giveaway up for grabs, so that you can try out your own Crock-Pot and create recipes in a flash. To be in the running, simply answer the following question: What will you do with the time you save in the evenings by cooking with the Crock-Pot?

Competition open to Australian residents only. One entry per household. Competition closes November 5th at 11:59pm AEDST.

Crockpot Sticky Chicken Nibbles Recipe

1 x packet Woolworths Macro Chicken nibbles

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 garlic cloves, crushed

1/2 teaspoon mince ginger

1 teaspoon of sesame seeds

1 spring onion, sliced thinly

  1. Place the chicken into the Crock-Pot, and then pour the sauce ingredients over the top, and stir to combine.
  2. On the Crock-Pot select the Pressure Cooker option, and set the timer to five minutes. Make sure the pressure cooker valve is closed, and press start.
  3. Once the timer goes off, open the valve and let the steam out. Open the Crock-Pot and remove the chicken nibbles into a bowl using tongs. Set the leftover sauce to saute for 15 minutes with the valve open.
  4. If you want to add a little bit of crispiness to your chicken nibbles, you can cook them in your air-fryer for 10 minutes, or place them in the oven at 200ºC for 12 minutes.
  5. Once crispy, place into a serving bowl. Spoon over the sticky sauce, and sprinkle with the sesame seeds and spring onion. Enjoy!
