Each weekend we like to bake, my little girl and I. Lacey is the perfect little baker, she can even crack an egg without making a mess or getting egg shell into the mixture. Pretty impressive for a 3 year old.

The only problem with baking is that there is eating. And with a wedding looming and a bridesmaid’s dress to be worn, I’ve had to be careful. So these were made and taken with us to a party, with a few uncooked dough balls stashed in the freezer for Hubby {to cook later}. I did taste one or two, and I can assure you these are the best choc-chip cookies I ever did try. Seriously.

Ingredients
125g butter, softened
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 egg
2/3 cup self-raising flour
1 cup plain flour
1 cup milk choc chips {I used Cadbury}
1/2 cup white choc chips {I used Hershey – feel free to leave these out if you like}

Method
♥ Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius {160 degrees celcius for a fan forced oven}
♥ Line two large baking trays with baking paper {if you can’t fit them all onto two trays, then you’ll need to wait until a batch is cooked and put more on}
♥ Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugars together until pale and creamy
♥ Add the egg and vanilla. Beat until mixed together
♥ Add flours and choc-chips and mix together with a spatula
♥ Make heaped tablespoons of mixture into balls and place onto the prepared trays
♥ Cook for 13-15 minutes until golden

♥ Place on a wire rack to cool.

Oh they look yummy! Where did you find Hershey's white chocolate?
@Katy: I got it at a confectionery shop at Petersham. I bought a huge bag of it for baking. The best thing is it tastes icky by itself so I'm not tempted to eat it, but once baked it's delicious!
I have white chocolate only for putting in cookies too. I don't eat the chocolate on its own either. You are inspiring me to try to cook cookies in my new oven.
White chic chop bikkies are my faves (chic chop is a Badooism!). This recipe looks a lot like the never-fail-to-impress Bill Granger version so I can attest that they are sooooo good! Well done for not eating the lot as I would prob do. That dress is going on, baby!!! x
I'm a sucker for a choc chip cookies. Can't resist. I'm keen to try this recipe. And yes, white choc chips are the best!
I'm sure one little cookie will still let you fit into that dress! 🙂
Def I would be adding the white choc… I LOVE white choc! Would also consider just white choc & add macadamia nuts to this recipe… or milk choc with pecans…. hmmm I have both combos, might just go open the pantry & preheat the oven 🙂
I prefer milk chocolate to white chocolate in cookies ! They sound delicious but I am not going to be trying to make them until I am down to goal !!!!!
I love white chocolate, especially when it's teamed with raspberries for a winning combination, they are my favourite taste sensation!
In any case, one kind of chocolate in a cookie is great. Two kinds= doubly yummy 🙂
I am known far and wide as a white chocolate fan. And reading this made me weep just a little. I miss chocolate.
This is almost identical to my favourite choc chip bikkie recipe – I have *tweaked* mine by adding a couple of hefty tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter to the mixture and beating after adding the egg. Too too delicious. These biscuits also taste amazing frozen (which doesn't help the philosophy of freezing to save for a later date….)
A great choc chip cookie recipe is a bit like the holy grail, isn't it? These look delish!!
Hi Chantelle
(way overdue on commenting on your blog sorry x)
They Look Delicious – I am going to keep this one for my folder of keepers thank you 🙂
I have actually been looking for a recipe that I am sure was something like this I tasted some time ago – I can't wait to give it a go and I'll let you know. (not a lover of choc seeing as you asked)
have a great day

Oliver cracks a great egg too but I can't say the same for his flour sifting
Love white choc chip and craisen biscuits! Im going to try this recipe out tomorrow Ill let you know how it goes!
any chocolate is good chocolate!
made these last night – oh my!!! delicious! and they feel kind of ok for you cause they are homemade!
Oh these look great.. mmmm I might have to give these a go.. can't go past a good choc chip biccie!! Although Im trying to fit into a birthday dress in a few weeks so I may have to freeze the dough as well : ) Too much temptation when they are sitting on the kitchen bench!!
yum, these look delicious! reminds me that i really, really need to work on my paleo chocolate chip cookie recipe!
I'm definitely trying these – especially when you say they're the best ones you've ever tasted!
We do inside-out choc chip cookies – dark chocolate biscuits with white choc chips. Amaaazing! Of course, now I only make them for the kids as I'm sugar free. Sad, but true.
All the best with the dress! xx
I just wanted to let you know, I am currently baking my third (YES THIRD!) batch of these since u posted. Thankyou for the recipe – and no thankyou for my waist haha 🙂 x
