18 Things To Do in 2018

Hello! Are you still feeling that New Year buzz? I know to-do lists can be a bit of a snore… cos they seem like work, but this New Year to-do list is about making life better, without feeling like a chore.

1. SAY YES
Say yes to new adventures and things that excite you. Equally say no to all the things that drain you. Life is too short to do things you hate.

2. EAT MORE VEGGIES
Veggies are so good! So cheap. So healthy. Eat more of them. Go to your local fruit market or farmer’s market and try stuff. Try a new vego recipe. Fall in love with veggies again.

3. SEE MORE SUNSETS
How many sunsets have you witnessed this year? Please tell me it’s at least one. Sunsets are nature’s magic. Catch as many as you can.

4.RECONNECT WITH AN OLD FRIEND
We’ve gathered so many friends in our lives, and some get forgotten… or given less love than they deserve. Reconnect with a mate. Send a text, a card or make a call. Do it.

5. UNFOLLOW ANYONE WHO MAKES YOU FEEL LESS
Trust me on this one. You know the people. As soon as they pop in your feed, you’re like UGH. They bug you, or give you pangs of jealously, or just outright annoy you. Unfollow them. It doesn’t mean you have to unfriend them… just unfollow so they don’t keep popping up in your feed giving you the UGH feels.

6. START A GRATITUDE JOURNAL
This is such a good thing and doesn’t need to be a huge commitment. Buy a cheap day-to-a-page diary and write one thing that made you happy that day. It will your life better.

7. GIVE MORE
Giving actually makes you feel really good, but also makes a different in the lives of others too. If you can’t commit to a regular donation… do your bit other ways. See moments where you can make the world a better place. Make donations now and then. Give your time. It’s the best gift!

8. FIND A SPACE FOR YOU
Do you have a space that you go to to recharge your batteries? For me, it’s the quiet of my bedroom, sitting on a made bed and breathing. Or the beach. Find a space, or create one so that you retreat when you need or want to.

9. PLAN A TRIP
I haven’t planned a holiday in a really long time {I do lots of work trips but less holidays} and I actually planned a trip recently, and I can’t begin to explain how much joy that brought me. It was BLISS. Plan a trip. Big or small, plan it!

10. LEARN A NEW TRICK/TALENT
I am going to learn Bahasa this year. It’s so good to keep learning. What will you learn?

11. GET MORE SLEEP
Go to bed early, get up early. Feel well rested. I went to a retreat last year and everything health related really came back to getting a good night of sleep. It makes a huge difference.

12. LET SHIT GO
Imagine you’re wearing a backpack and each time something shit happens that you hold onto, it goes into that backpack. STOP CARRYING BAGGAGE AROUND. Let it go. Breathe it out. Let it go.

13. CELEBRATE YOURSELF DAILY
You are amazing and capable of beautiful things. You are doing awesome things each day. Celebrate them!

14. FALL IN LOVE WITH EXERCISE
The gym might not be for you. Walking might not be either. Maybe yoga is. There is so much joy in finding an exercise that is your thing. It shouldn’t feel like a chore. It should feel good. Try new ways and do it!

15. TRUST YOUR GUT
Your gut knows. Sometimes your head gets in the way {so loud, isn’t it?}. Your gut will lead you the right way.

16. DANCE MORE
I am not the greatest dancer, but god I love it. I love daggy music and dancing around with the kids. It fills my heart. Dance more.

17. SPEND LESS
It’s easier to have less clutter in your head if you have less physical clutter. Spend less this year. Save more.

18. MEDITATE
This is on the top of my list. I need more calm. I’m bringing it back with meditation.

What will you do on the list?
