Can you hear that? It’s silence. The sound of content kids busy doing something, and not a suspicious silence where you know they’re actually up to no good {at my house it’s usually ruining my make-up, and making tutorials that will never see the light of the internet}.
This year has been a big year in our household. Lulu started big school, Lacey is now a ‘senior’ at her school, and we’ve made some small changes around things we do too, in regards to schooling. We got an amazing tutor for Lacey, and we’ve put some rules into place around iPads for the kids. They don’t have them during the week, and when the weekends roll around they are often not interested, and have found other things they’d rather be doing.
One thing we do let the kids do, which they love, is play on their LeapPad Ultimate Ready for School tablet. It’s actually for Lulu, but Lacey loves playing along too.
What is it? The LeapPad is a tablet that is filled with learning games {you can have access to 1000+ games from the LeapFrog App Centre}, videos, eBooks, kids-safe web access, and also teaches skills, numbers, the alphabet, shapes, phonics {just like at school!}, counting, music and rhythm, and handwriting.
One thing that I worry about with iPads, was always wondering what they were watching or doing, but I love with the LeapPad I can let them play {ahem, learn} while I cook dinner and get stuff done for a few minutes – because the LeapPad has a closed browser network so they can’t access anything that is not LeapFrog approved. The LeapPad Ultimate Ready for School tablet also comes with $150 worth of pre-selected apps to download, but has access to so many more that have been LeapFrog educator approved.
They’re available right now at Big W, Target and all good toy stores and online retailers.
In VERY exciting news, I have a LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate Ready for School tablet valued at $199 up for grabs. One lucky family will get one of these great LeapPad tablets to learn and have some fun in their choice of pink or green. To be in the running, all you have to do is leave a comment below, answering this: What would you do with yourself while the kids learn and have fun on their new LeapFrog LeapPad Ultimate Ready for School tablet?
{boring bits}: Open to Australian residents only. One entry per person. Competition closes June 30th 2019 at midnight AEST.
