Where To Stay When Visiting Brisbane

We live just a little over an hour from Brisbane, and it’s a place that we visit a few times a year. We’re mostly motivated to visit to eat dumplings at New Shanghai but it’s also our main city for fun getaways, shopping, activities, and of course to get an international flight now and then. But as I said, we’re definitely motivated by the dumplings.

NEXT HOTEL

We stayed at Next Hotel one time for our wedding anniversary. It’s right in the middle of Queens Street Mall, and a great location if you like to shop and eat good food. I don’t know why it thrills me so much, but it does – at Next Hotel the minibar is free. Isn’t that cool? The beds are comfy, and they have a cool pool area too.

OAKWOOD HOTEL AND APARTMENTS
You could not possibly get a better view of the Story Bridge if you tried, this is what we could see right from our balcony at Oakwood Hotel and Apartments. We stayed recently when Lacey was participating in the Weetbix Tryathlon, and it was the perfect spot. We stayed with friends and there was plenty of room, and really yummy breakfasts {they make donuts people, DONUTS!}.

RYDGES HOTEL, SOUTHBANK
The Southbank area is super family-friendly, and has the best restaurants. It’s a great place to stop and stay if you have kids. The Rydges is right where you need to be, and easy to walk around to visit the parks, into the City and around, it’s also really roomy.

Where do you stay when visiting Brisbane? Is there somewhere I should try out?
