THE online plus-size shopping guide

THE plus size shopping guide

I’ve always had to shop in the plus-size section, but when I was in my teens and early 20s, there didn’t appear to be any plus size clothes. It wasn’t fun. I love fashion, and I now love that there are so many options for dressing our bodies.

I wanted to put together a guide for all the online stores I love to look at that feature plus size clothing. As I discover more I’ll add more to the post. I have a habit of searching through the stories {window shopping?!} when the kids have gone to sleep, and Hubby is on night shift. I’ll throw all the things in my cart, and then leave them there. It’s very satisfying. And sometimes, yes more often that I should admit, I do click checkout and those babies make their way home to me.

A few things you should know:
ASOS is awesome for on trend clothing. They update regularly, so every time you pop over they’re sure to have new items. I don’t always love the quality though.
ModCloth is amazing for fun, well-made clothing. I love that they also show the item of clothing on everyday people, because the community often uploads photos of them wearing the clothing. I love that. I haven’t mastered the sizing though. It’s something I should pay more attention to {i.e. get out a measuring tape and actually do it properly!}.
Jibri does the most amazing, beautiful quality skirts I have ever seen. I have a few and I don’t think I’ll ever throw them out.
Eloquii is just new on my radar. I have a package due to arrive here soon, so I’ll let you know what the quality and fit is like. They do great sales, so keep an eye out for codes for 40% off.
Forever21 is another favourite of mine. It’s cheap and cheerful, and the quality is good.
♥ A few of these places don’t ship to Australia, or the shipping is insane… so I use HopShopGo to get the items sent to there, and then shipped on to me in Australia. Often the US stores have free shipping within the USA, so I’m only paying to get it back home. It’s not cheap, but if you do it once a year it’s a nice treat.

Do you have any other favourites I should check out?

  1. I buy almost all my clothes in the UK, when I’m there in person and online when I’m down under. They all ship to Australia, have a wide range of sizes and are really affordable. Often you can google a promo code and even get free delivery. Some of my favourites are Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins and Next.

      • Soooo soft, they feel very luxurious… I don’t know how they do it but glad they do. Customer service is great too, my husband has even bought a couple as gifts, the ladies are very happy to help him out with sizes or they remember my size! Sometimes little things go a long way

  2. Happy to see 17 Sundays there – amazing customer service and really great clothes. What I love most about them is that when my dry cleaner ruined their iconic denim jacket, I emailed them to ask if I could buy more studs to have the dry cleaner’s damage repaired (the dry cleaner offered me money but no amount of compensation could replace my favourite jacket). The team replied saying that while they didn’t have any studs because the jacket was being discontinued, they did have a brand new one in their office they’d happily trade me – and put it in the post before I’d even mailed mine.

    • Agree! I bought two dresses last year, and they shrunk when they washed. I bought one, and it happened – so I bought another because I LOVE the dress so much. Even hand-washing saw it shrink. They were awesome about making sure I sent both back for a refund.

They actually care, which I love. Always happy to shop with them. And I have that jacket in black. It’s beautiful, isn’t it?

  3. Love birdsnest. Very quick delivery and 365 days return policy. Hand written note in every parcel. Love them

  4. I love Lady V London for beautiful retro style dresses, good quality, price and delivery. Bravissimo have an excellent range of bras and they have a clothing division called Pepperberry, with clothes designed to fit buxom boobs.
Pin up girl clothing do a variety of vintage and modern styles, so very gorgeous designs.

  5. Two to look at…Ullapopken.com and for swimming costumes, swimsuitsforall.com. I also use ebates.com as a portal to shop in the U.S. … you get rebated a percentage of your spend (to PayPal quarterly) which helps defray the postage costs!

  6. swakdesigns.com isn’t up here but it is one of my all time favorite plus size online stores to shop at! Goes up to 6x and they have everything from casual to fancy. Great prices too!

  7. We love the guys at Addition Elle so great to see them on the list. Their Ashley Graham collection is stunning!
