Pineapple Dole Whip Recipe

Back in October I went to Hawaii, and I asked people to tell me what to do there. I learned that people loved Hawaii and loved recommending places to visit, and I also learned that people loved the Dole Whip. “You’ve GOT to try the PINEAPPLE DOLE WHIP!” they yelled through their computers. So I did.

I found it in a little ABC Store near our hotel. Hubby was eating a bowl of it when he walked into another nearby store. Thinking that he might get kicked out for eating it, he checked with the store assistant if it was OK. A conversation took place where she {a resident of Hawaii, born and bred there} asked what he was eating and told him she’d never tried it herself.

Guys, I think we need to hunt that girl down and spoon feed her Dole Whip.

What’s Dole Whip? It’s pineapple soft serve. Pineapple ice cream-y type treats.

And so because I can’t be going to Hawaii {I think it’s also sold in Disney theme parks and other places} every time I want a refreshing bowl of ice cream-y, pineapple-y goodness, I made some myself. I used this recipe as inspiration.

  1. Can you make this with fresh pineapple or does it need to be canned? It may sound crazy but try it with cilantro…cilantro and pineapple are incredible together!

  2. This sounds delicious. Will have to try it. It’s hot here in SA this week so will be perfect. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Ooh, I do a very similar thing with frozen berries blended with a little plain yogurt. I will definitely try this pineapple goodness next time I am craving dessert!

  5. I have a child on a special diet for two months, it limits a great deal of foods and I have been struggling to find easy summer options for her.

This is perfect. The diet is called fodmaps and I highly recommend you using that in your SEO for this recipe as there are not many things out there. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

  6. We were in Hawaii in April and Loved the Dole Whip and the Dole plantation. I just told my husband about this recipe and the fact you found it in the ABC store and he is upset he did not know this! I will be trying this for sure 🙂

  7. I went to Hawaii a few months back and first tried dole whip at the Hilo Hattie store…a couple of days later I visited the Dole Pineapple Plantation and had to have some more….I fell in love with it! I can’t even look at a pineapple anymore without remembering the taste! Definately going to try this recipe

  8. Thanks for posting this recipe. I visited Disneyland in September last year and remember reading about Dole Whip before I went and found the one little place that sold it and absolutely LOVED IT! Can’t wait to make it

  9. I live on a mango farm and after last harvest have a freezer full of mango but my pineapples never last long enough to freeze so might try with canned and do a mango version aswell.
