Overnight {no cook} strawberry oatmeal in a jar

Fat Mum Slim /

You’re busy right? Aren’t we all? Busy is the new happy. Whatever that means. Sometimes we’re too busy for breakfast. There are kids to feed, dishes to clean, work to be done, babies to be cuddled … and more. Always more!

This will save your morning. Or at least make it a tad more fruity. Pop it in the fridge the night before and wake up to the perfect breakfast. It feels like you’re eating something naughty, I blame the addition of vanilla but it’s perfectly healthy. Guilt-free even!

I forgot I’d made this and I started to think about my old-faithful breakfast, vegemite toast, and then it hit me. I have oatmeal. It was delicious. Not mushy, just fresh and lovely.

1/2 cup uncooked traditional oats (not the quick ones)
1/2 cup skim milk
1/3 cup low-fat unsweetened Greek yoghurt
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
4 strawberries, chopped
1 extra strawberry for serving

♥ Place all the ingredients into a jar and top with a lid. Make sure it’s secure.
♥ Give it a good old shake-up. And then a little more.
♥ Place into the fridge.
♥ Go to bed and have beautiful uninterrupted sleep {yeah, right}.
♥ Wake to a beautiful breakfast ready to go. Top your oatmeal with freshly sliced strawberry. Eat from the jar or transfer to a bowl.

What are mornings like at your house? Crazy or calm?
