No One Cares What You Had For Lunch.

I know that no one is supposed to care what you have for lunch, and it’s a sin to blog about it {tsk, tsk Telle – just kidding} but I just have to share.

This sandwich is the BEST SANDWICH … EVER! You must try it, and not just because it’s so extraordinarily good… but because I’ve failed to convert anyone to at least try it yet. It’s not even that out there. It’s just healthy, that’s all. I want {need} someone else to share in my sandwich excitement.

So it’s two pieces of fresh sourdough rye bread, hummus, avocado, free-range chicken, tomato and rocket. So delicious. Go make one and get back to me. Love it like I do?

And because I know you most probably {definitely?} don’t have those ingredients on hand… just tell me what you’re having for lunch instead.

What’s on your plate today?

  1. Allergic to avo's here!

I had chicken schnitzel with home-made lime/chilli/coriander mayo on rye. Was unfortunately rushed due to trying children!! 😛

  2. I had a crappy subway sandwich (on the run between work and uni) which i scoffed at the bus stop 🙁 your sandwich looks so good – you've inspired me!! i'll pick it up at the bakery tomorrow! gotta love the sourdough!

  3. sounds so yummy – without the avo… just cant stand avocado! i love sour dough bread but must have a scrape of mayo!

i missed lunch… drove to a new favourite sushi place (15 minutes out of my way!) and they were closed! then i was running too late for school pickup to stop for something else…

    rowe x

  4. I make something similar to your sandwhich and it is soo yummy!! 🙂
I love sourdough, theres just something about it that makes it taste so much better than regular bread.

Today, my toddler and I made cheesy corn potatoes.
Its cold and rainy here and i wanted something to warm us up.
You bake the potatoes untill soft, cut the tops off and scoop out the centres, then mash it up and mix in some creamed corn and grated cheese, season then and scoop the mixure back in and your pretty much done!
    Great for toddlers too, lol!
    Have a great weekend 🙂

  5. Had chicken and chinese mushroom soup with hand-made noodles, and prawn and chives hand-made pan fried dumplings with red vinegar and chilli oil. All bought at a Northern Chinese noodle place. It was so perfect considering I had a nutella sandwich for lunch yesterday!

  6. @Simone: Me too. I LOVE avo. So glad you love 'my' sandwich. xx

@MTB: I've never tried corn on a sandwich. I am thinking I might. One day.

@Liss + Jay: Tell me it ain't so. No avo. Tsk tsk. 😛

@Anon: I've never, ever had tomato sauce and cheese on a sandwich… and I'm not sure I'm brave enough to go there. When you say good…. how good do you mean?

    @Ange: Jealous. Yum!

@Kelly: I've never had Subway. That smell puts me off and I never get through the door. 😉

@Rowe: I know you don't like avo. 😛 So sad you missed out on your sushi… but good that you've found a new place. xx

@ihm: Oh yummmy. Lacey would love that.

@katadia: That sounds ultra gourmet. xx

  7. @TraceyLynne: I am so proud of you. And ever so glad you liked it! I made it for my little Sis and Ma the other day and they loved it.

I am slowly converting people over.

@Nisha: I love hummus too. So good.

  8. That sandwich sounds like a dream. I might have it on multigrain though… I love, love, love avocado.

Today I had rye crisp bread, with cream cheese and tomatoes fresh from the garden, sprinkled with black pepper. And carrot sticks, celery and pickles. And a cup of soup. (trying to behave myself these days)

PS: I dig the new look!

  9. delayed reaction ….

I had a decicous wrap from a new-to-me organic cafe/shop in my city. I work in the burbs, so being in the City is very exciting for a change.

The wrap was mountain bread, rocket, tomato, cucumber, avocado and tomato relish. Fresh and zingy with flavour.

For the record, I'm always interested in what people are eating for lunch, so blog about it to your hearts content!

  10. Mmm yeah, that sounds perfect.
And I really don't get that book because let me tell you-I LOVE hearing about (and maybe seeing photos) of what people ate for lunch. In fact, I find it more interesting than most other blogs.
So thanks for the inspiration ;D

  11. Erin: That sounds very angelic. Good on you for being so.. good!

Kylie: The wrap sounds good. I love mountain bread. I also really love wraps that are red or green. I can hardly find them anywhere. They're so soft and delicious.

Abby: I agree. I haven't read the book… but I like to know what people have for lunch {and breakfast and dinner!). 🙂
