A few weeks ago when I had my giveaway to celebrate Fat Mum Slim’s first birthday I made up the package of a few of my favourite things. Inside I put a mix tape (or… umm CD) of my favourite songs {or ones I could remember at the time}.
I got a nice little email from a reader named Sarah who wanted to know what my favourite songs were. Thanks for asking Sarah.
I thought I would share the songs over the coming days. It’s a little bit whimsical looking back at favourite songs because they all remind me of something, and that’s pretty special.
The first song is Ice Cream by Sarah McLachlan.
I love pretty much every song by Sarah McLachlan, but this one hits a soft spot for me. It’s quirky and perfect.
My sister Sarah {lots of Sarah’s in the post, hey?} sang this at our wedding. We were out in the garden and she sang to Hubby, I and all our guests. If I ever figure out how to convert video to DVD, I’ll put it on here so you can see. It’s really special.
Enjoy. xx
i love this song too. i have this very rendition on dvd!
I love this song, as soon as it started playing, I was singing along. This is my Scotland song. Good taste!
This was the second dance that my husband and I danced to on our wedding day. It was in the running for first song, but we ended up with “We Have All the Time in the World” by Louis Armstrong.
I love Sarah McLachlan. Being from Victoria (just a quick ferry ride away from Vancouver, where Sarah lives), I've seen her live several times. She NEVER disappoints!
Thanks Telle!
You're a gem.
