{love}: Saving Your Blog

This is going to sound like a story that you hear from one friend, who heard it from another, who heard it from another.

Stay with me, and you’ll understand. I hope.

I read on the blog of Oh Brooke about printing out your blog. I straight away thought that it was a brilliant idea.

Oh Brooke read about it on the blog of Just Something I Made, where you can see photos of how she printed her blog out and put it in a neat folder.

Blog2Print is the company that does all the printing, or organising for you to print. Blog2Print can print out your blog for you in a book format at a more expensive price, or print it out yourself for $2.95 (which I assume is in US dollars).

I started to get mine sorted. You simply put in your address. They show you the layout. If I got them to print it out it was going to be $115 because there were so many pages. For me to do it though, was still $2.95.

I know it will involve a lot of paper and ink, but it would be pretty cool to see it all in print.

Why would I want my blog printed?

I guess to some it seems like a crazy idea. Firstly I’d like to keep it in case it all gets lost in the blogosphere somewhere, so that Lacey can read it when she’s old enough. And my Ma has no idea what blogging is or what I do on here.

I’ll have to stock up on paper and ink, and start printing, I guess. xx

  1. What a cool idea. I am having visions of blogs lined up on a bookself like diaries *drools*

Don’t suppose you know how to backup a blog do you Chelle?

  2. I have been thinking of doing this too. I started my blog as a pregnancy diary and have used to record all Elka’s milestones and I would hate to lose it all…

Might have to stock up on ink and paper too!

  3. i thought about this after seeing brooke’s post but i know i’m much too lazy to print it all out! i’m really, really interested in blurb though – a place that allows you to create, publish and even sell your own books online. one day….

  4. April – I don’t know how to back up a blog… sorry!

Belinda – I have made Lacey’s first album on blurb – a blog one sounds like a great idea. Will have to check out how much that would cost! Thanks.

  5. I have used blurb too, I uploaded my blog a few months ago and I have been slowly tweaking it to make the perfect book. such a great idea.
It’s such a great ideia but i wonder with blog to print how much you would spend on paper, ink would it be worth actually getting it printed professioanlly instead.

  6. This is a good idea! I’m someone who gets excited seeing my name in the phonebook, so this would be beyond exciting 😉
