Cheeky little chop.
How cheeky you are! I only told you the other day: You have a great little sense of humour. And you do.
You make us laugh ALL THE TIME. You make yourself laugh. You cover your mouth and have a little chuckle, making sure you have an audience.
You can’t stand if you don’t have people watching you. We can be out and you’ll see a stranger nearby. It’s hilarious watching you trying to get their attention. Flirt much?
You’ve come in leaps and bounds with communicating. The other day I got out of the shower and you said to me: Shower, wet.
Dadda and I looked at each other and remarked: What the!?
Your communication with us though mostly consists of you outstretching your arms and grunting: Eh, eh, eh, eh.
It means a million different things, but mostly we’ve translated it into: Get me something. NOW!
The past month has flown by at the speed of light. And that’s fast.
You run everywhere now. From here to there, and back again. Your little head copped a big bump from one of your speedy manoeuvres. Ouch.
You still love your food. You don’t eat much, but you’ll try everything. It’s sometimes hard if we’re eating something spicy, you’ll grunt: Eh, eh, eh, eh. You’re not happy with us when we try to explain.
Taking photos of you now is getting more difficult. You now realise that once I snap a photo you can see it on the screen at the back of the camera. You tilt your head after I take a photo and grunt: Eh, eh, eh. Which means you want to see what you look like. You’ll then point at the image and act all surprised at how lovely you look, I’m sure.
You’re a little groover. Your dance moves are wonderfully choreographed. Your little feet moving quickly as you show us how talented you are.
My favourite thing in the whole wide world is your singing. I’ll ask you to sing me a song and in your softest voice you start to sing a little tune, whilst swaying from side to side.
Oh, my heart does melt.
I love you Miss Lacey. We love you Miss Lacey. Keep singing Lacey, and we’ll keep falling in love. xx

She is so beautiful, Telle. And these letters are beautiful.
I'd love to see a little movie of her singing. Too cute!
Superdooper cute.
naw. beautiful.
I love that you've written these letters, Chantelle…they'll be so special to look back on in years to come.
She's sooo gorgeous and what a beautiful thing to write..
Your posts always do, but this one in particular made me really miss my Nanny job! I remember the taking photo thing so well with the then 14 month old – always wanting to see how he looked. It was no surprise with the 2 year old – but it blew my mind the first time the baby communicated that he wanted to see how the photo looked! Kids are funny little things! xo
Dear chantelle. She's gorgeous – I love her hat.
This letter has made me excited about all the things I have to look forward to with my little one.
I love your letters to Lacey, Telle.
Happy 14 months Lacey!
Thank you!
Amanda – We taped her on Wednesday. Will share next week. x
Ditto, ditto, ditto! Chantelle you have such a way with words. My little girl is doing exactly the same things as Lacey and the songs she sings are what I wake up to each day, and it melts my heart. She cant say the words of the song, but she says “bow bow bow” (for row row row the boat) and does all the highs and lows of the song in her voice. She also reads us her books now, pointing to things on the page. Chantelle, thank you for putting into words so beautifully these wonderful moments!
Beautiful words xx
OMG!! I can't WAIT to hear her singing!!!!!! love you, sis xoxoxox
What a sweet little munchkin and what beautiful words she'll be able to read from her mama someday!
Awww how adorable – she sounds like such a joy đŸ™‚
