It’s A New Dawn.

It’s

a new day. And I’m feeling goooooood.

I hope lovely weekends were had all round. We had a baby-free night on Saturday. Ma and Lil Sis had Lacey overnight. Actually it didn’t seem like I had a choice. I went to drop something over at Ma’s and as I went to drive off Lacey started screaming because I wasn’t leaving her there. So she stayed.

Hubby and I thought about dining out at a nice restaurant, but the lure of take-out Chinese and a night on the couch sounded even better. Even without Lacey home to wake me, I got up at 5:30am. The morning was too beautiful to miss out on. Plus it is my favourite time of day.

It was so hot yesterday, and I think it’s going to be about the same today. It feels like Summer already. I’m not ready for it yet. Argh.

For those that are playing along with me on Operation: Fat Mum Slim: How are you going?

I’ve been naughty. With my Chinese dinner and a few chocolates here and there, I’ve stayed the same weight. I have been walking though… which is a step {literally} in the right direction.

How is everyone else doing? What are your goals for this week?

  1. Yeah I slipped up again – but have remained the same weight.

I think my goals are the same this week:
    – 1 hour walk if it is not raining
    – no eating of zoe's scraps
    – control my portion size

    Hope I can do it!

  2. I'm going great this week 🙂 Last week I lost 800g. Over the weekend I didn't indulge (too) much, exercised for 3 hours over the weekend – with gardening and bike riding with the kids included. Pretty happy with that.
Also found a container of fererro rochers :/ They might just stay at the back of the cupboard for an evening treat every other night.

    One goal for this week:
    – stick to my WW points. I must admit I've been going over by 5 or so points most days. I do make them up, mostly, by exercising, but it has to stop!

  3. Ate well Monday to Friday, indulged in quite a bit of chocolate over the weekend but those indulgences aside still fairly healthy weekend. Didn't get to the gym as much as I'd have liked, but did do a LOT of walking around and hauling groceries and attended my weekly dance class, on top of that practicing the Charleston at home … so I'm satisfied I got plenty of exercise!

Saturday night I'm heading out for cocktails in a little red bodycon dress, so my goal for this week is avoid anything likely to leave me bloaty in the belly or puffy around the face on Saturday night! And just to be extra good, my second goal will be not to over indulge too much on said cocktails and nibblies.

  4. I had a lovely weekend away with friends and good food and wine was high on the agenda. I really enjoyed myself though so this week is a new week.

My goals are to eat a good breakfast each day, exercise at least 4 times and walk a different way home from work so I don't buy chocolate on the way past the shops.

Well done Chantelle – keeping up with exercise is always the hardest part, particularly when there is a lot going on.

  5. Operation Fat Mum Slim is going great this week, thanks for asking!

Took myself back-to-school shopping and indulged in several cute little numbers (in size 6 and 8!!! wahoo!)

Have packed my school lunch for tomorrow (BIG salad, butternut squash soup, crunchy Granny Smith apple…) and I'm planning to walk to work in the morning. Feeling motivated and good. It's a great feeling.

Have had several meetings and it's tricky to get as much exercise as I'd like, so plan to walk to work at least 1 day each week (I only work 3) and to walk my little guy to preschool, too.

    Goals:
    – see walking above
    – 2 evenings at gym
    – lots and lots of water
    – plan menus ahead and stick to them (this always serves me well)

    Have a wonderful week, Chantelle!

  6. You know what? This exposes me a little bit more than what I am comfortable with, but I am going to join. This is a fun way to achieve one of my goals. Thank you for doing this.
I already walk every day, so as well as doing that I need to –
    1. turn three of those walks into a walk/jog
    2. stop eating the girls left overs
    3. do yoga four times
    Love Hannah

  7. I started properly last week, but only lost 300gm. Bit sad, but shit happens eh?!

This week I'm sure it'll be the full kilo I'd love to lose in a week!!

    Good luck everyone else!

  8. @thereddeer: It's better than putting on, I say. xx

@Katy: That's a great exercise effort. It's easy to settle into a pattern of going over in points, isn't it? Sometimes it's good to start writing down what you eat again and getting strict. 🙂

@She's Rambling: The dress sounds A-Mah-Zing! I hope you share pictures. x

@Ingrid: Thank you. Wishing you all the best this week. You're right. It's a new week! x

@Erin: We meal plan too. It's a good way to stay on track – diet wise and financially. x

@Hannah: Thanks for joining. Sometimes it's good to get out of your comfort zone. I look forward to seeing you around. x

    @Alycia: That's a great start. Congratulations. xx

  9. Well, I haven't been doing the weighing thing so no idea if I've changed any… but since I last checked in – have been back to the gym and done two gym classes. Which is a double yay as I'm not wasting my membership 🙂

The other half has just brought out some ice-cream though… does it count if it's organic??
