Handmade Living Book Tour.

I

t may surprise you to know that I once designed {oh, and don’t take that term too seriously} children’s clothing. Well, really I bought a huge bundle of plain white singlets and I made them fancy. I drew pictures on them, I added funky tulle sleeves and I sold them at a market stalls.

I gave that up after the one stall {which I sold a fair few} and I moved on to creating Christmas Cards. I sold a fair few of those too. I had one client who would order hundreds each year. I’d sit amongst sparkles and paper each silly season and make each one with love.

And now I blog. A girl’s got to have her creative outlet.

When the lovely Tania contacted me and asked me if I wanted to be part of the Handmade Living blog book tour, I jumped at the chance. “I’ll make something from the book!” I told her via email.

When the book arrived I drooled over the pages, bookmarking my favourites into a shortlist of which I’d pick ‘the’ item I would create.

Handmade Living is filled with tonnes of beautiful projects. It’s like walking around a handmade market stall. You know that feeling you get when you’re amongst such talent, and you wish you had just a teeny bit of what they’ve got. It kinda feels possible with this book. Let’s just say I had a lot of bookmarks going on.

This headband was a front runner. Love!

These singlets are a whole lot of divine! ♥

In the end with a crazy week on my hands {you wouldn’t believe me if I told you!} I ended up putting together a batch of the most beautiful brownies I’ve ever tasted. Big Sis, Hubby and Lacey agreed too.

I’ve got a huge box filled with vintage buttons that will look beautiful embellished on a singlet for Lacey, so watch this space. I will definitely be giving them ago.

Until then, enjoy drooling over these delicious brownies. Am I mean if I say you have to grab the book for the recipe? Yes? Sorry… but it’s truly worth it.
