Fun & Fancy Cocktails for the Silly Season!

Brought to you by Appletiser.fun-and-fancy-cocktails

I’m sure that you’ve felt it. It’s in the air. Perhaps you’ve even caught a little bit of the fever. Yes, the Silly Season is upon is. It’s happening {like it or not}. I’m 90% liking it, 10% freaking out that it’s coming around so fast.

Today I’m bringing you a few drinky-poos for you to try over the Christmas and New Year period. My friends at Appletiser helped me out, and we’ve worked together to create these delicious creations for you to try. I have to admit, I was a bit selfish because I like things fruity and fun, so this is what these cocktails are. They feel special {because WE are, and they are!}.

This drink looked so beautiful, and tasted amazing. It was so easy, especially because we have an ice crusher at home, but you could use a blender. I’ve had it since without the alcohol too. It’s that good!

ORCHARD COOLER

Makes 1 drink

45ml vodka
15ml lemon juice
1 tsp of orange marmalade
1 tsp passionfruit pulp
50ml Appletiser, to top
Half a passionfruit to garnish

Add all ingredients {except the Appletiser} to an ice filled shaker. Shake and strain into an ice filled glass. Top with Appletiser. Garnish with a half of passionfruit.

Make it virgin: Just leave out the vodka!

Now this next one should be in served in champagne glasses. I had just bought these beautiful pink wine glasses and I wanted to try them out, so I did that. I think they’d be just as pretty {maybe prettier!} in a champagne flute.

APPLEINI

APPLEINI

Makes 1 drink

20ml orange liquer
20ml peach puree
90ml Appletiser {chilled}

Build the ingredients in a chilled champagne flute {orange liquer first, the peach puree and then Appletiser}.

Make it virgin: Simply leave out the orange liquer.

Now maybe the silly season really got to me, or it could have been the Appleini I had before I made this one, but I thought it would be fun to create my own cocktail; A Fat Mum Slim cocktail. I’m a bit crazy about mint {the herb} and love it any drink I can get. You could make huge jugs for the table on Christmas Day with Appletiser in them, with loads of ice, and mint and cut up fruit. This one is a little bit fancy, and when topped with the raspberry garnish… well, it was my kind of perfection.

FMS-COCKTAIL

THE FAT MUM SLIM {INSPIRED BY APPLETISER’S ROSA COCKTAIL}

Makes 1 drink
45ml Vodka
1 slice of watermelon
4 leaves of mint
Appletiser {chilled}, to top

Cut the rind from the watermelon, and place the pink flesh of the watermelon, and mint into a blender {I used my nutribullet, because I’m definitely not making green smoothies at the moment!}. Blend until smooth. Add vodka to glass, and top with the watermelon and mint puree. Top with Appletiser until full. Add a fancy garnish. I added raspberry’s on a fun cocktail stick.

Make it virgin: Just leave the vodka out!

This is my first Christmas in three years where I’m not pregnant or breastfeeding, so I’m looking forward to having a few special drinks to celebrate. Plus we’re hosting Christmas at our house this year, so I can wait to entertain and treat my guests.

We have a fridge in our garage {so Australian!} where we keep all our drinks, which is perfect when unexpected people pop by too {because you totally know they will}. We have beer, wine and a whole heap of Appletiser too, which is nice by itself poured over ice on a hot day. You can find it at any supermarket.

What are you doing for Christmas Day? And do you have a favourite drink that I could {should!} try? Tell me about it below!

  1. Appletiser was my go-to drink last Christmas when I was pregnant. I had it with ginger cordial and plenty of fresh mint. Definitely trying your Fat Mum Slim version and the Appleini although I’ll sub Lychee liqueur for the orange. Yum đŸ™‚
