So, I forgot to tell my Ma I was making an App…

I never want to be one of those people that harps on about a topic so much that you cross the street when you see them because you know they’re going to talk about that thing AND YOU JUST CAN’T BEAR THE THOUGHT OF HEARING ABOUT IT ONE MORE TIME. You know those sort of people?

I feel like I talk about sleep a lot here and in ‘real’ life. I feel like I talk about my App a lot here too, and in real life too. But the reality is I think I actually think about the App a lot {because it’s a freaking whole lot of work that takes up a whole lot of my time} but perhaps I don’t talk about it much at all {in real life anyway}.

I forgot to tell my Ma I was making an App.

And that would be OK if I never, ever saw my Ma or talked to her at all… but I see her ALL the time. It would also be OK if an App took only a couple of weeks to make, but I’ve been making this App for almost 9 months! My communication skills might need some brushing up.

My Ma asked me the other day, “Are you doing an App?” She found out from my cousin who read it on my Facebook page, who told my Aunt, who then told my Ma. Grapevine at work, or what?

And if I haven’t told you, then I’m telling you now: I’m making an App. I’ve made an App.

It comes out this Friday. And I’ve got constant butterflies because I’m equal parts excited and equal parts nervous and scared. It’s scary putting things out there for people to use {judge and stuff!}.

It’s called Little Moments by Fat Mum Slim. Little Moments because it’s all about celebrating the small stuff, collecting the little moments in your life. If you take photos, you’ll love it. It makes your photos all fancy. Some clever, creative people helped put fun stuff in it. And if you play Photo A Day, you’re going to love how easy it makes it to play.

And I’m going to apologise in advance because I’m going to be talking about the App a little bit this week, because when you’ve pored so much of yourself into something you just have to share it.

If only I’d bothered to tell my Ma first. Oh well.

P.S. She still doesn’t quite get what it is. She asked, “So people will send you their photos and you’ll do stuff with them? Is that what it does?” Oh dear.

P.P.S. Check out this cool video that I had Mabel make for me. She’s so clever!

  1. From a mother with two young adult daughters, shame on you for not communicating better with your mother I mean that in the best possible way xxx

  2. Love the app and LOVE the video. Exciting!!

And yeah, sorry Ma, these things happen sometimes. My Mum and I used to work together every day. For years we did that. And sometimes it wasn’t until I needed annual leave approved that she would even know I was heading interstate or worse. I don’t know about you but sometimes I forget what I’ve told one member of the family versus another. 😉

  3. I can’t wait!!! Sounds like you’ll have to give your Ma a bit of 1:1 tutoring (perhaps with cake…!)

  4. Ha, I think I’m the annoying person that tells the same story ten times because I can’t remember who I’ve told. Baby brain for life! I’m so excited to get your app this week – you’re amazing!!!xxoxoxoxo

  5. Well done Chantelle, I am so happy for you. It looks amazing. Almost (naaaaa not really) makes we want to switch to Iphone from my beloved Galaxy. Looking forward to it being available on Android at some point.
