Eye Candy Decor.

I

have many little projects in the works {read: my brain} for Lacey’s room. I want to paint this, make that, sort this, create that… and so on. But I have little time or motivation to do it. If she slept in her room, perhaps it would be another story. For now they’re all on the mile long to-do list…

When I was pregnant I visited Living Etc every week eagerly awaiting more eye candy and inspiration. Here’s a few of my favourites from the Living Etc gallery.

Do you enjoy decorating? Or is it in the same basket as cleaning the toilet and doing the grocery shopping?

  1. Does day dream decorating count? 🙂

If so, I VERY much enjoy it!! I can't wait to have free time and a beautiful home of my own full of rooms ready for me to create!

  2. I LURVE decorating and wish like crazy I had a budget to go with what goes on in my head. I love the pics you've shared and that trundle bed is EXACTLY what I want to have in the Bebito's Big Boy bedroom when we get to that point. I love the slow accumulation of decorating “stuff” throughout the house that makes it a more loving atmosphere. I don't think our house will ever be a finished project. Thanks goodness for Google Reader and being able to tag photos to keep for inspiration later.

  3. Beautiful and inspiring photos. I would love to decorate, but I have no idea how. I'm not even good about printing out and hanging up photos.

  4. oh, love it 🙂 but as with many people I suppose, my budget never quite matches my dreams. I actually also suffer from this wierd thing where I get to a certain point, and then I get stuck. I don't run out of steam so much as run out of time :))
Those pictures are just lovely – I'm playing around with the idea of making a fabric headboard for our bed actually (with all that time on my hands…..)

  5. Love these images Chantelle! I love to decorate my kids rooms and have recently done my son's room. It needs a final few touches, but I am happy with it. With Mia's room, I love to spend ages on the internet at night finding beautiful little things for her room. Decorating their rooms is a process though – it takes awhile to collect all the lovelies required :). Cassie x

  6. I love decorating I just wish my finances loved it as much. Not only is it the decorating it is the trawling through markets or flea markets on weekends in the sunshine looking for perfect pieces.

Keep the eye candy posts coming

  7. Ooh I love these rooms you've found!! So beautifully decorated. I love decorating our home but find that I always have so many ideas floating around in my head and not enough time to get around to doing/completing them.

  8. oh i love every one of those rooms… especially the one with the gorgeous daybed and pink wallpaper! makes me feel bad for audrey though. i have lots of ideas and buy lots of things but just never find the time to do it… got to make time i guess! rowe x

  9. LOVE it. I'd rather have a pretty house than a clean one, any day. Plus, if you cultivate a vintage sort of look, you can pass of the dust as helping the authenticity along…

  10. i think it's safe to say i'm a little more than obsessed with decorating! especially if it involves children's rooms: have just started making a few more changes to layla's room (again). i feel bad that it comes before i've finished zak's, but we'll get there!
maybe with a few changes to her room, lacey will want to sleep there?!?! xx

  11. Thanks for all these lovely pics – they have inspired me! I can't wait until Miss 20mo moves into her “big girl's room” so I can decorate 🙂

  12. Love to decorate! We've moved so many times since we've been married that I feel like i have to get started with each new how on day one! Like everyone else, I never have the budget to do what I really want but over the years we've gotten good at rehabing free or cheap finds and LOTS of DIY (We even poured our own concrete countertops for this house! Yikes!) Love the images. I'm working on my kids (shared) room right now. It's the most fun to decorate for sure. So many things that you couldnever do elsewhere.

  13. I have a whole CHALLENGING farm house in front of me in the next few months. Did I mention that it's going to be a CHALLENGE?? I love decorating, but I need good bones to start with. I will need a builder to create some bones for me to start with. Any suggestions on such a task??
    Have a great week.
    xx Amy
