Excuses, Excuses.

Well…

Ahem.

{Awkward silence}

I feel like I need to get a note from my Ma {which of course would never be forged, ever} to give reason for my absence over the past few days. I guess it would go something like this:

Dear … You,

Please excuse Chantelle of Class Fat Mum Slim for being a rather shit and inconsistent blogger over the past week as she has been busy caring for her sick daughter {which joyfully involved being vomited on and then having to stay in vomited-on clothing whilst baby fell asleep in her arms
for four hours … ewwww}, as well as working {recovering from a fun-filled school holidays} and partaking in a spot of Nintendo Wii activity.

She will be a better blogger in the future {at some point} and will bring treats for you and others {read: announcing giveaways} to make up for her absence. She did not at all watch America’s Next Top Model or shop on etsy whilst she was absent from blogland.

Yours unfaithfully,
Ma. xx

Thank you for your emails and comments asking after me. We’re all good here. I can’t wait until Winter 2009 is over. We really didn’t get out of this one unscathed. I am hoping Lacey’s immune system is getting stronger and will be ready to rival any other Winter’s that come her way.

Anyway … moving on.

I have some lovely giveaways for you today. Keep an eye out for some rather wonderful goodies up for grabs. That’s later on today.

Before I go I have to wish my beautiful Big Sis a BIG Happy Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful birthday.

Sarah is living it up for her special day of days in Greece with her best friend. I’m sure they’re having a lovely time.

Happy Birthday Sarah. Love you. xx

  1. I was wondering where you got to {and actually owe you an e-mail} Sick kids are allot of work, poor poppet I hope she's on the mend soon.

  2. Best “excuse” note ever – thanks for brightening my dull morning.

Sorry to hear the bambina has been unwell but it's good to know you're all ok.

Looking forward to hearing about the things you've “not” been up to he hee! 🙂

  3. I'm a fairly new reader here but have been checking back regularly in anticipation of new posts!

I have a two (nearly three) year old son and I'm a single mum, and yeah, looking after a sick bub sets you back. I missed out on giving a presentation at uni (haha, boohoo) on account of my boy having gastro early in autumn … and totally wanted my mum to write me a sickie note for that, too!

  4. Jack – Very true, AND VERY hilarious. 😛

Danielle – Yes, kids become very high maintenance when they're not well. Much like sick husbands. 😉

Cat – Thank you. I'm glad I made you smile. 🙂

StrippedBare – I wish letters from Ma held as much power as they did in school. That would be fun. xx

  5. Wow the world really is full of Leo's – my Mr's birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday to your gorgeous sis.

And poor you (and Lacey) with all the illness. It just sucks basically doesn't it? Hope you can see some light at the end of the tunnel!

  6. Hello! Welcome back. Sorry you've had an icky week. But with a note like that, you're allowed 🙂 Looking forward to some Chantelle Sunshine.

  7. Oh poor Lacey 🙁 – I really hope she gets well soon! You poor thing sitting in vomit for 4 hours, not much fun is it.

Glad to see you back in blog land!

  8. Oh, poor little Lacey 🙁 It's no fun being sick while caring for a little sickie, too! At least, as everyone says, it's good for their immune systems…

You're such a lovely sister! I'm majorly envious that she is spending her birthday in Greece 🙂
