Everyday Everybody: Alicia

Hi there. This is Alicia. Everybody say Hello Alicia.

Things I know about Alicia:

She’s beautiful.
She’s talented.
She has a gorgeous daughter.
She bakes a mean cupcake (as in good, not angry).
She blogs over at The Red Deer.

Well, I know more… but you can get to know a little more here first, and then head over to her blog and find out more.

If you want me to find out more about you. Email me at fatmumslim@hotmail.com to be part of the Everyday Everybody series.

Do you envy anybody you know? Not at all. I love the life I live and would not swap it for anything. Sometimes I will have a fleeting moment when I wish that I had this, or that my hair looked like that, or that we had more money – but then I realise I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful daughter and what more could one ask for.

As a child or teenager, which posters were on your wall? Hmm I had to think about this one for a while. I mainly had posters of Brad Pitt – I had a small crush on him back in high school. I also had a few music posters as well, mainly of the Beastie Boys I think. Ah those were the days.

Is there a song which always reminds you of someone? Into My Arms by Nick Cave always reminds me of my husband. We played that song as I walked down the aisle/grass at our wedding ceremony. It was a beautiful moment – always makes me a bit teary.

Which film makes you cry? I actually don’t cry very often in movies at all, but since becoming a mother I have been on the verge much more often. I think the last movie that I really cried in was The Kite Runner – a very beautiful movie, but with some very rough moments in it.

Have you ever witnessed a terrible accident? Luckily I haven’t yet and I hope I never do.

How often do you get drunk? I haven’t had a single glass of alcohol since October 2007 and I think I am done with drinking. I think by now I might even be classified as straight edge since I don’t drink or do drugs and I love my heavy music.

Who’s the most awful driver you know? Oh dear – I would have to say my friend Vivi – sorry Vivi if you read this. I really hold on to my seat when I am in the passenger seat with her.

Are you ticklish? Yep under the arms and I used to be on the bottom of my feet – but I overcame that.

Which sporting event do you fantasise about winning? Ummm none! I am so hopelessly uncoordinated I have never been good at any sport, except for maybe running. So okay maybe winning the 100m sprint at the Olympics.

Who’s your best friend? Definitely my mum. My mum and I talk everyday on the phone and see each other at least twice a week. You know when you have a true best friend when you can be comfortable in yourself around them, and that is exactly how I feel when I am with my mum. Love ya mum!

Thanks Alicia. It’s lovely to have such a close relationship with your Mum. I’m the same with my Mum. xx
