Easy 4-ingredient cheese rolls

  • Author: Chantelle Ellem

Description

This easy cheese rolls recipe uses just 4 ingredients and delivers big cheesy flavour in every bite. Perfect for lunchboxes, parties or after-school snacks!

Ingredients

Scale

1 loaf of white sandwich bread (crusts removed)

1 can of evaporated milk

12 cups grated cheese (cheddar or tasty cheese works best)

1 packet French Onion Soup Mix (you can use half for a milder flavour)

Optional: melted butter for brushing + sweet chilli sauce to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170ºC (fan-forced). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the evaporated milk, soup mix, and grated cheese. Stir over medium heat until the cheese is melted and everything is combined. Let the mixture cool slightly.
  3. Cut the crusts off the bread slices. Spread the cheesy mixture generously over each slice. Roll the bread up tightly. You can use toothpicks to hold them together if needed.
  4. Place the rolls seam-side down on your tray. Brush with a little melted butter for extra golden goodness. Bake for 10–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with sweet chilli sauce or your favourite dipping sauce.
