Finding the perfect daily facial sunscreen is no easy task. They can be too greasy, too smelly, too white or even too sticky. Until now… because I’ve found the best sunscreens for your face.
And by found, I mean I asked my beautiful Fat Mum Slim Facebook community what their favourites were, because what’s better than spending hours scouring the shelves to find the perfect sunscreen? Asking people that know. Finding out from people that use it every day and rate it!
The best face sunscreens in Australia
Ultra Violette Clean Screen SPF 30 Weightless Get Skinscreen | $47
If you’re not a big fan of heavy sunscreens, this one is for you. Promised as a total lightweight, Clean Screen is perfect for acne-prone or combination skin. It has a gel texture, no fragrance and offers SPF30 protection. Of all the sunscreens, this one got the most rave reviews from my community. After trying it myself, I’m equally obsessed.
SunBum Original Face 50 Sunscreen Lotion | $12.99
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly sunscreen that performs, this is the winner! The perfect daily moisturiser, with an SPF50 protection rating, SunBum Original Face 50 is lightweight and absorbs into the skin, offering an invisible matte-finish. I love the branding for this one (so cute) and the scent is gorgeous too.
AVENE Sunscreen Emulsion Face SPF 50+ | $28
Not sticky? Tick! Non-greasy? Tick! Doesn’t leave white streaks? Tick! The AVENE sunscreen is great for more sensitive skin, and is even water resistant up to 40 minutes. With it’s light, mattifying texture, it’s a good everyday, moisturising sunscreen choice that won’t clog your skin and cause that dredded summer breakout.
La Roche Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid 50+ | $31.95
I wore this one, the La Roche Posay Sunscreen in a tinted version, all summer and loved it. It’s lightweight with very high UVA/UVB broad spectrum SPF 50+, perfect for sensitive skin. It doesn’t feel greasy on, and is fragrance-free too. I loved that once put it on, I couldn’t feel it after, and best of all, it didn’t feel like it was clogging my skin, like some tinted sunscreens can do.
Ego QV Face Day Cream SPF 30 | $12.69
Does every home have QV products? I know they’re a staple at our place. They make for a great all-rounder skincare range, and the QV Moisturising Day Cream offers that same reliability. With SPF 30 protection to help protect your skin against damage and the appearance of premature ageing by the sun’s UV rays, while also moisturising at the same time.
Lullaby SPF50+ For Delicate Skin | $45
One of the most expensive options, but still in the affordable range, the Lullaby Sunscreen got glowing reviews from my community. It offers the highest UVA and UVB protection, while also being really lightweight and non-greasy. It’s formulated with Vitamin E to hydrate your skin, and has no synthetic fillers – making it perfect for babies, kids and the whole family.
ECO BY SONYA Face Sunscreen SPF 30 | $39.95
One of the problems I’ve found with suncreens is that I’ll breakout in pimples after wearing one, and it makes me feel like an oil-slick the whole day when wearing it. Sonya, making of this ECO BY SONYA suncreen, dislikes the same things as me, so she’s created this one with those points in mind. She says, “You won’t even know you’re wearing it!”
Go-To Nifty Fifty SPF 50 | $45
Knowing Go-To’s creator, Zoe Foster-Blake, and how skin-obsessed she is, so I had to have this one as soon as it was released. Nifty Fifty is a hard-working sunscreen, while also being hydrating at the same time. Containing Kakudu Plum to improve radiance, as well as aloe vera to hydrate and nourish, Nifty Fifty is a winner.
NATIO Daily Defence Face Moisturiser SPF 50+ | $19.95
Another budget-friendly option, NATIO Daily Defence is a light moisturiser with Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreens and SPF 50+ helps protect facial skin against sun damage. It non-greasy while being deeply nourishing, protecting from sunburn and also premature signs of aging.
Naked Sundays SPF50+ Collagen Glow Creme | $34.95
Naked Sundays may have just considered it all this sunscreen. It’s vegan. It’s collagen-infused. And it’s said to feel like airbrush on your skin. It’s four products in one; a primer, sunscreen with SPF 50+, collagen-booster and moisturiser. It gets a virtual gold star for being an SPF over-achiever.
Cancer Council Face Day Wear Moisturiser Matte SPF 50+ Invisible | $11.39
With a SPF 50+ rating, this Cancer Council invisible day wear moisturiser is easy-to-wear and feels like you’re not wearing it. It’s paraben and fragrance free, and easy on the coin purse too. This was a big winner among the FMS community, due it’s affordability.
