The Best ANZAC Biscuit Recipe
ANZAC day is special for our family. It’s a day where we always take time to pay our respects, for those who have fallen. Most years we’ll head to Dawn Service, and I’ll cry {because it’s what I do} and we’ll reflect on where we are today, because of those who have helped Australia to be the place it is.
And then, every year I make ANZAC biscuits. This is one of my favourite ANZAC biscuit recipes, I hope you love it too.
Ingredients
1 cup plain flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup brown sugar
125g butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC, and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Combine the flour, oats, coconut and sugar into a bowl. Mix to combine.
- Place the butter, golden syrup and water into a saucepan. Cook over low heat until all melted. Turn the heat off, and add in the bicarb soda. Stir to combine.
- Add the butter mixture to the dry ingredients, and stir to bring the mixture together.
- Place tablespoon heaps of mixture into balls, and onto the prepared baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes.
