A day in my life

Brought to you by Olay.

My mum works at our local supermarket, and I find myself there a lot {groceries, they always need me} and I also find myself knowing the people that work there. One lady, I love. She’s got a zest for life. It’s contagious. I’ve always imagined her to be in her early 50s, but the other day she revealed her true age {late 60s}. I gasped. “For real?” I asked, and then embarrassingly, “Can I please touch your skin?”

I ACTUALLY TOUCHED HER SKIN. Weird, I know. I think she’ll be avoiding me in the future.

I then asked her what she used on her face, and the answer was “Olay!” My mum has been the same all her life, always Olay. I remember as a kid thinking it was magic and special because we weren’t allowed to touch it, and it was ‘Mum’s special stuff’.

The kind people at Olay sent me the Regenerist Overnight Miracle {Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence, Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Night Cream } to try for a few months. So I did. While I still can’t manage eyeliner or how to do bronzer perfectly, I do know how to look after my skin. I’m fussy about it. The Miracle Boost comes in a syringe and is a lighter consistency than a serum. I put it on before the daily cream. It doesn’t feel heavy wearing both {that’s my criteria for a good cream} and doesn’t leave any residue. And because it matters, the team at Olay have done research for over 10 years and know it keeps skin looker more youthful. It reduces pores, improves texture and radiance too.

Here’s what a day in my life looks like, with my Regenerist Overnight Miracle…

My secret to starting the day right is getting up before the kids. Unless the kids are sick, or I make too much noise walking down the hallway, I can successfully enjoy silence in the early morning. And this is the view that I get treated to.

Eating breakfast without the kids is a luxury. I love my kids, but I also love eating breakfast alone sometimes.

And then the kids wake, silence is broken and chaos happens. And vegemite toast.

I get the kids settled, and then shower. As always they follow me in and ask me all the tough questions. Like how to spell ‘sandwiches’. Then it’s face time.

I rewind time by singing 80s songs and applying the Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence and the Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. Already I feel youthful, my skin feels firm like I almost don’t have wrinkles, or what I call affectionately life lines.

Hubby has the day off, so I steal a morning to get my hair done {finally!}.

And grab groceries. Living the fancy life!

And then home.

A quick tidy later, while reviewing a new TV series {Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce}.

Then lunch.

And a few hours of work…

A 23 minute workout video {oh my thighs!}.

Then watching the sun set with the kidlets.

Dinner! Mushroom risotto with rocket and balsamic glaze {I love this Thermomix recipe}.

After hours of negotiation, and more patting and cuddling than necessary… the kids finally pass out.

I love the moments, no matter how brief, between seeing the girls off to sleep and falling asleep myself. I write lists, catch up on my trashy TV, apply a little Micro-Sculpting night cream, and then nod off. The skin feels a touch more luxurious and nourishing than the day cream. When I wake in the morning, I’m {well, my skin} always grateful I made the small effort the night before. My skin feels soft, and hydrated.

So, what do I think about the Olay Regenerist Overnight Miracle? I like them. They make my skin feel beautiful and hydrated, and firm where I need it too. I love when creams make my skin feel like it’s loved, and these do. I can’t tell if they’re making me look younger. I’ll probably have to go to the local bottle-o and see if they ask me for my ID. My skin feels good though. The other day someone said I was glowing. That’s always a good thing. ?

  1. oh I might have to try that, I have always been terrible at looking after my skin. Now is the time to start

  2. From my understanding Olay tests their products on animals so I’ll take the wrinkles.

  3. I enjoyed reading this post. Maybe cos I like to sticky beak into how people live. 😉 Olay reminds me of my grandma, but in a good way. She used to use it all the time.

  4. I use the classic cream from Olay and love it! I’m always getting compliments from people saying that I look younger than my 46 years. I just recently started using their eye cream and like how it feels too. I’m an Olay girl all the way 🙂

  5. … My Mum always used Olay on her skin when she was younger…. She’s 99 now and doesn’t look it..
You do have busy days.. Hugs.. Barb xxx
