You know those recipes that make you pause and go, “Wait… really?” This is one of those. Just TWO ingredients, and they somehow turn into the most delicious, fluffy little donut holes – no deep fryer, no yeast, no fuss.

This clever recipe came from Amanda in our beautiful Fat Mum Slim community (hi Amanda! 👋) and I couldn’t not share it. I tested it out, halved the batch, and… WOW. They’re golden, soft, and have that real donut taste, all without the mess.

Perfect for lunchboxes, parties, or just a sweet snack with your cuppa.

Amanda’s 2 Ingredient Donut Holes

What you’ll need:

For a full batch:

  • 2 x Woolies vanilla cake mixes
  • 1 ½ cups Greek yoghurt

For a half batch (which is what I made):

  • 1 x vanilla cake mix
  • ¾ cup Greek yoghurt

Optional:

  • Cinnamon sugar for sprinkling
  • Icing sugar or glaze (if you want to get fancy)

How to make easy donut holes

  1. Make the mix

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix and Greek yoghurt until a soft dough forms. It should be thick and scoopable.

  2. Get scooping

Using an ice-cream scoop (or tablespoon), portion the dough into small mounds and place them on a lined baking tray. Don’t worry if they’re not perfect – I think the more edges make it more delicious!

  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar

Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if you’re using it. I just mix 1/2 cup of sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon… and sprinkle enthustiastically.

  4. Bake

Bake at 175°C (fan-forced) for 12 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.

  5. Enjoy!

Let cool slightly, then devour. Warm is best. (Trust me.)

Notes

💡 These are best eaten fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the microwave or air fryer.
💡 Want to dress them up? Try dipping in a simple glaze or dusting with icing sugar.
💡 They freeze well too – just zap them in the microwave to bring them back to life.
