FIVE CHRISTMAS DIYs TO TRY TODAY

Brought to you in partnership with Fujifilm Instax.

How do you feel about DIY crafts? I love them, and envy people who can wield a hot glue gun and make an amazing creation out of things they’ve found in their third drawer down, but I’m just not that crafty. I didn’t get the glitter and glue gene. It doesn’t run through my blood.

I do like cute though. And fun.

So I’ve created five fun DIY crafts for Christmas that you can make today, and there’s not a hot glue gun in sight. No glitter either. Thank me later.

These beautiful DIY ideas are simple, and use the beautiful instax mini LiPlay, which is an instant camera and printer in one. If you only have one instax camera, this is the one to have because it does EVERYTHING, and is so clever it should be illegal.

Here’s what it can do:

+ Instantly print a photo that you’ve taken on either the camera itself or on your phone
+ Capture sound {and then create a QR code that can be printed on the picture so your friends can hear your message}
+ Add frames and filters to your photo print-outs
+ Shoot remotely, meaning you can use your phone as a remote and take a beautiful group photo

You can also make these cute crafty things, without much effort at all, but they leave a beautiful impact.

CHRISTMAS STRING LIGHT DECORATION

You can make these yourself with some string and mini pegs, but you can also grab these cute light up string pegs from Target for next to nothing and then display your favourite photos from the year. At the end of Christmas Day you could also invite your guests to take a photo on their way out, making a good little take-home gift.

PERSONALISED CHRISTMAS GIFT TAGS

What a cute way to give a gift! And the tag won’t get thrown away. Print out your favourite photo of the person you’re giving the gift to, use a permanent marker to write their name or a message of love, and stick onto your gift using ribbon or washi tape.

CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATIONS

A little peg and some string, and you’ve got the cutest tree decoration, especially when you use a fun film like the Pink Lemonade mini film where all the photo frames are pink. Simply create a loop with the string, peg on the photo and then place on the tree. The kids get so excited to look at all the photos of themselves.

LIGHT-UP JAR DECORATION

This could not be easier, and it’s so pretty, especially at night time. Grab a glass jar {around $2 from Target or a bargain shop} and some string lights {I grabbed these for $2 too!} and place them in a jar with your favourite instax photo. They also make a great night light for kids. Just turn off once they’ve gone to sleep.

CUSTOM TABLE PLACE CARD

Make your guests feel special and give them a little gift to take home by creating a custom place card. Simply print out a photo, add their name, and a little paperclip and a note {if you like} and place on their table. It makes for a modern, fun table!

And there you have it! No glitter, no glue, just five fun DIY ideas that can make your Christmas really special using the instax mini LiPlay!
