30 Things.

I turn 30 in less than a year.

I know those older than me are thinking … I remember the day. And those younger than me are thinking … she’s old. Or at least getting there.

I’m not particularly phased by it. Yet.

I remember Hubby telling me he had a little evaluation of his life when he turned the big 3-0. I evaluate everything anyway, so it’s probably not going to be much different from any other birthday, or day even. We’ll see when I get there though. It may involve a little freaking out.

Do you remember when I did the list of 29 things I wanted to before I turned 29? I managed to cross a few things off the list, but I pretty much forgot about the things I wanted to do in the last months of being 28.

I have written a new list of things to do before I turn 30. I am hoping to pay more attention this year. {And please hold me to that if for some silly reason I neglect it}.

1. Learn how to use the aperture on my camera.
2. Pretty-ify our bedroom.
3. Cook a souffle.
4. Lose weight.
5. Make a wedding photo album {finally}
6. Be silly more often.
7. Figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
8. Read a WHOLE book. Magazines are not books.
9. Get a blog makeover.
10. Plan/organise my 30th.
11. Get to 100 sales in my etsy shop {and actually make an effort with it}
12. Kick Hubby’s butt at Wii Tennis.
13. Finish doing our photo wall.
14. Create an artwork for our bedroom.
15. Get rid of the bags under my eyes. Somehow.
16. Send out all the letters/packages I’ve been meaning to send, since forever.
17. Be more positive.
18. Convert our wedding video to DVD.
19. Visit my friend in Queensland for a few nights.
20. Teach Lacey a little bit of sign language. {Thanks Carly}
21. Get a new handbag.
22. Take more photos.
23. Be able to run a length of the beach. Without stopping. Preferably in sand {that is soft}
24. Take Lacey to a concert/show.
25. Get a nice photo of us as a family.
26. Be grateful each day.
27. See a non-kids movie in Gold Class.
28. Have a picnic in the garden where our wedding was.
29. Find a really good, affordable hairdresser.
30. Get out more. Explore. Enjoy. Breathe.

If you have any tips on how to complete any of these. Feel free to advise me in the comments. xx

  1. great list!

    for #7 write down everything you want to do and put it into a cup/bowl/hat/jar/etc and pull one out! its always fun. and if you didnt want that one then your gut will be annoyed you pulled it out 🙂

    for #8 choose a book that really interests you.

    for #15 im chronic for these too. i just try and make sure i use eyecream every night. i use nivea dna cell renewal – cheap but effective!

    thats all i have ideas for 🙂

    oh and thanks for the mention totally made me grin ear to ear and brighten up my day xx

  2. Well, I can completely vouch for the watching a movie in gold class. I did this recently figuring I never get to go to the movies so I may as well splurge and watch it in comfort …. well, prepare to NEVER go back to the ordinary seats! It's really worth it I reckon!

    Also when I turned 30 (five years ago!) I got myself a spray tan. It may sound ridiculous but far out when I look back at the photos from my party I now think I looked smokin' and I believe it was all due to the tan!

    Oh and turning 30 is awesome!

  3. I love your list, Telle! You were the one that was my original inspiration to make my own list – and for that I have to say thank you xx

  4. Great List Chantelle! I like number 21!

    I am also turning 30 but in 6 weeks 🙁 However, I have organised the most exciting 30th birthday party that I could think of… There are 16 of my closest friends and I going to stay in a house with its very own vineyard for the weekend. We have hired a chef for the birthday party who will cook/serve & clean up for us at the house. Its not as expensive as it seems. Can you tell I am a little bit excited!!!

  5. Great list 🙂 It's my 30th at the end of the year but have been so busy doing house stuff that haven't really thought about it… at this rate I might end up making more of a deal of my 31st! That said I'm definitely putting 'be silly more often' on my list! 🙂

  6. love this idea i need to do a list. i had a laugh at number 16, send out all the letters . i still have an envelope here full of pictures the kids have done for lacey that i will send at some time in the next year or two.
    xx

  7. Thank YOU Carly. I love the idea for #7. It's so true. You just have to listen to your gut to know what's right, and what's wrong. x

    Mel – Oh I agree. A tan makes the world of difference. I'm onto that one. x

    Gab – Need me to whip your butt? Get onto it girl. x

    Kahlee – No problem. x

    Hayley – That sounds nothing short of AMAZING! I want to hear how it all goes. Make sure you email me and let me know. x

    CP – There is still time. Don't let it pass you by. x

    Chelle – Cute. I can imagine Aurelia teaching Lacey. Makes me laugh. x

    Bee – I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. x

  8. Great list. If you are still looking for a fab hairdresser, try Kane at Tide on Arden Street at the north end of Coogee. He is FANTASTIC.

    (Though I do hope your weekend hairdresser was a great find)
