There’s something special about following a post about running with a post about possibly the most indulgent tart ever, isn’t there?
I feel like I should put a disclaimer in here now. Something about moderation, and fruits and vegetables. Something about exercise. I should also say that while I share a lot of sweet treats here on my blog I can assure you we eat savoury, healthy food most of the time … but that isn’t as exciting to blog about, is it?
Hubby treats himself to something indulgent once a week. He had a super hard night at work on Saturday so on Sunday Lacey and I set out to make him a sweet treat. While he slept off a night shift we whizzed and whirled the food processor {kind, quiet people, aren’t we?}.
Ingredients
100g Tim Tams {equal to half a pack, which is 5 and a half biscuits}
15g butter, melted
100ml cream
100g chocolate, chopped
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
Method
♥ Process the biscuits until all nice and crumbly. Add butter and pulse until combined.
♥ In a pan over low heat place the cream and bring it to almost boiling point. Remove from heat and toss in the chocolate. Mix until smooth. Cool slightly.
♥ Add in egg yolk and vanilla. Mix until combined.
♥ Pour into tart cases and chill for 15 minutes.
♥ In the meantime preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
♥ Cook for 15 minutes or until chocolate is set.
♥ Chill completely before serving. Serve with cream or ice cream. And raspberries if you like.
♥ Serves 2
Later in the day Lacey presented Hubby with a Tim Tam Tart and after he took his first mouthful he declared that it was the best thing he’d ever, ever tasted.
And our job was done.
I’m going to buy some proper tart cases and make these for Christmas. I’m going to have a very, very happy family.
YUMMO! here i am thinking that my peanut butter cookie sandwiches were indulgent!

P.S. Wonder how it would go with all of the new Tim Tam range? Turkish Delight or Caramel perhaps?

I keep scrolling back down to see the luscious center of that Tim Tam Tart…

Wow, these look seriously awesome. I think I might give these ones a go. Cassie x
My goodness they look devine!!
Do you think they'd work with double coated? While I'm being naughty I may as well do it properly, right?

Elizabeth Saxe Coburg-Gotha is an evil woman, why do we slave away at work our whole lives for money with her face on
Ha ha… I was just surfing around and took a glance at these responses. I can’t believe that there’s still this much attention. Thanks for posting about this.
Hi Chantelle, what are tam tam’s do you know what kind biscuits here in the States would be comparable? also what kind of cream do you use? this looks so yummy
It’s pouring cream, but I use thickened and it works perfectly.
I’m not sure about biscuits. If you can just get a chocolate coated biscuit with a little soft centre inside – that’d be a great start. Just something delicious!
Is there something called penguins in the states? ive heard that they might be similar.
Yes you can get them at world market/cost plus they are English and similar to Tim Tams well i think so anyway I love Penguins :-=)
Quick question… where did you buy your 8cm tart tins from … i searched every shop in Blacktown then, victorias basement and no one has one that small.. so made them in 11cm and had to double the quantity then had to cut in half since.. they are too yummy and bad to eat so much at once and the base only made two anyway…..but got a whole ramikan of cream mixture… so bad.. 🙂
