Sunday 10am

We’d slept all night cramped on a wonky futon bed.
In a house that was all but 9 degrees.
But it didn’t even matter.
Because when we woke it was my day.
Our day.
A day together.
Happy Muffer’s Day, Lacey yelled.
We ate breakfast underneath the big tree.
In the sunshine.
The dog at our feet.
Eggs + bacon + avocado + fresh bread + fruit + yoghurt.
Two mums.
My own mum and me.
And those that love us.
And we love them too.

Best of all, I didn’t have to clean up.
Not one bit.

What were you doing on Sunday at 10am? Were you being treated like royalty on Mother’s Day? We’re you treating your own mum to a special brunch? Tell me all about it…

  1. Glad you had a lovely day. I was probably sitting inder a tree too…we found a new park with a flying fox – I sat and drank my coffee in peace whilst the kids had an absolute ball.

    xx

  2. That sounds like a lovely day. At 10.00 am I was sitting on the lounge reading my weekend magazine and drinking cups of tea. It was lovely. Glad you had a great Mother's Day Chantelle. xx

  3. I am so glad that you had a lovely Mothers Day. Here in the UK it was a few weeks ago and I also spent the day with my Mum, and my boys and my daughter – at the beach. It was wonderful!

I think Mothers day is all about spending quality time with Mum – not all the hype!

  4. Just loved my Mother's Day. I admit I particularly liked the “full service” part, too. With tree kids you just never have a day or night off ;-). Went for ice-cream in the afternoon and spent some playground time together. Got plenty of hugs, kisses and sweet talk from the ones I love, what more can you ask for. Have a great week – maks 🙂

  5. I was lucky enough to get a bit of a sleep in and breakfast in bed. We then went off to church (all the mums got a cool Babushka Doll set that says “Loved” when they are all standing next to each other in height order. Then went off to my Mum's for brunch with the family and the park in the afternoon. Was a great day all round

  6. Sounds like a perfect Mother's Day!

Unfortunately for me, I was at work at 10am on Sunday. But fortunately for my lovely mother, she is on a holiday with dad in France. Lucky duck.

I did manage to spoil my future mother-in-law with some homemade brownies after I finished work though.

  7. Not one bit? I might have to pass that info on to my hubby and little boys… just so they know! Still just half way through Mother's Day here, so there's plenty of time left for relaxing and NOT doing any housework!

    Happy Mother's Day to you!

  8. Sounds lovely Telle. Raya woke me up dying to give me the jewellery box she had lovingly made with a stack of red paint and heaps of stick on jewels 🙂

Then hubby made me the poached eggs recipe from Master Chef before I jumped in the car for a day with mum while hubby stayed home and did the laundry and tidied the house – bliss

  9. At 10am, I was still in bed, having just finished poached eggs and ham, reading the Sunday papers and chatting on Twitter. Bliss. Happy Mother's Day, Chantelle.

  10. What a lovely day! At 10am I was in a local restaurant munching down breakfast and hot chocolate with my hubbie and boy followed by a big play in the park and then a dvd and soup while watching the rain. Happiness.

  11. Happy Mother's Day!!!
At 10am I was snuggled in bed with Miss 2 and hubby surrounded with my gorgeous gifts. I love mornings when we are able to cuddle in bed together.

  12. Sounds perfect Chantelle! What a lovely photo of that carpet of crunchy leaves.
We had a very quiet, go with the flow kinda day. Capped off beautifully with an afternoon play session at Queens Park. The weather was just glorious and the Mr Whippy van was a callin' ;o)

  13. Sounds like you had a lovely M Day!

Me? Feeling awful for getting cranky at MissA for waking us up at 7am (before I so comatose passed out again). Ahh, the joys of depression & not thinking one iota of 'straight'! Blergh.
