BLOGversation: Blogger’s Block.

I

went for months and months and months without running out of ideas for blogging before I hit a wall one day, and had nothing. It usually coincides with other things going on in life, where there’s no room left in the brain for creative… stuff.

I usually go for a walk, people watch, read magazines, draw or write lists to get my blogging mojo back.
My question for you is: Have you ever had blogger’s {writer’s} block? Do you ever get stuck in a blogging rut? How do you pull yourself {and your blog} out of it?

  1. I've blogged every day for a year and a half and have yet to hit a “blocker's block” (knock on wood).

One thing I do is start lots and lots of posts and keep them in a “working” folder. If I don't have anything I'm working on, I'll go through the pile and see if any of those things inspire me.

I guess if you get stuck, you can always do a post about “blogger's block” and ask your readers what they do about it… 😉

  2. I also have a whole heap in my drafts folder – some are just a jotted down idea or a few sentences. I have a couple journal prompt websites bookmarked that I hit if I get stuck as well 🙂

  3. When i have a writer's block i add images that inspire me most or what i love that week until i get new and fresh idea to write about.i'm sure you will be fine i always Love what you write, your blog is always one of my favorite's to read:) xx

  4. I'm lucky because if I have bloggers block I just do an outfit post. That also works if I'm pressed for time.

I have lists and lists of post ideas but ideas don't help on days when my writing juices just aren't flowing. I always just take a break. There's nothing else to be done! Luckily I can spin B.S like a mofo so it doesn't happen to me too often!

  5. this is the exact reason why I have no post today.
I used to go in search of memes to play when the block struck. But then my blog was too full of fillers. I have heaps of drafts of stuff waiting for development but no creative headspace to do it in.

  6. 99& of the time I blog every day but sometimes sleep is more appealing. I blog what I think about and since I think a lot I usually have something to write about, not saying I'll win a Pulitzer for it but there's always a piece of my thoughts worth sharing.

if all else fails… take a photo.

  7. What jack said. (I am not as funny though!)

I find it hsrd to blog when I am sad. But force myself to, and usually I find a music clip that lifts me.

  8. YES. Always.

I try not to worry about it, and busy myself with life outside my Mac in the meantime. Then when I think of something blog-worthy, I make a note of it in my phone or on a post-it so I don't forget to write a post about it later xxx

  9. Whenever I get bloggers block, I stop blogging. Then when I'm ready, and only then I'll blog again (i don't want it to be a chore, too many of those already!)
I head out to the garden, and mooch around, and suddenly I find myself pondering stuff.
    that usually works 🙂

  10. can't say i have had blogger's block yet, was a hard time when i didn't want/feel like blogging, but not due to lack of things to say…
i would prob pull out your e-book hahaha…

  11. I am having that problem right now! So until i have something “interesting” to write about I have just been joining in other bloggers challenges. Hopefully the blogging mojo back. =)

  12. I'm in the middle of one at the moment actually. Have been looking for lots of inspiration and found some on internet news sites!

sometimes it comes from the most mundane places.
