I don’t know about you, but I can tell it’s winter by my skin {forget calendars!!}. As soon as it hits, my skin gets thirsty and screams for more love and attention. This winter I’m vowing to look after it, properly. Night creams, day creams, lip balms and even eye creams. It’s time.
Today I’m sharing the best lip balms for winter, because you need a few to stash around the house and in your handbag. Most of these I’ve tried and loved, and others are new but have great reviews. Below I also want to share one product that I won’t live without, especially over winter but it can be embarrassing to buy. That in a moment though!
The Best Lip Balms For Winter
ONE // Go-to Lips! {now available in tinted too} $15TWO //Burt’s Bees Ultra Conditioner $5.60THREE //Kit Lip Balm $17FOUR //First Aid Intensive Care Lip Balm $40FIVE //Drunk Elephant Lippe $22SIX //Jack Black Intense Lip Therapy $7.50SEVEN //Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm for Lips $23EIGHT //Lanolips $17.95NINE //Bobbi Brown Lip Balm $38TEN //HURRAW Lip Balm $4.70ELEVEN //Malin + Goetz Lip Moisturiser $17
Personally, out of all of the above I’d pick Go-To and Lanolips, because my lips need deep conditioning and these work for me. BUT also, the one lip conditioner that I won’t live without and a dermatologist told me was the best there was out there… is actually a NAPPY CREAM. I went to buy more the other day, and the pharmacist asked, “Is this for your baby’s bottom?” and I had to meekly reply, “Ah, no I use it as lip balm.” Oh well. Bepanthen. It’s the best ever. Buy the cream not the ointment though.
I second bepanthen. We are out of the nappy rash stage but we still keep a tube in every bedroom. I also use unscented lanolin or trilogy’s everything balm before bed.
Bepanthen is awesome. I love it, even for eczema cracks on my hands.
Do any of these have a matte appearance on your lips? I hate having shiny lips!
Because these are more balms than glosses {I dislike glosses} they’re pretty good. Go-To isn’t too shiny, Malin&Goetz is light, like a moisturiser and Lanolips is awesome, but probably a bit more visual and sticky.
Great, thank you! đŸ™‚
Bepanthen is actually the best ever, I had a crack in the corner of my lip that kept splitting when I ate, spoke etc and it cleared it right up! Lanolips is also pretty darn good!
That’s good to know thanks. We always have some.
Oh sweet! I don’t feel like such a weirdo! Thanks to being on team Bepanthen with me. đŸ™‚
My new favourite is the Super smoothing lip butter from Sephora. I bought it on a whim earlier this year when on holiday in Melbourne. My lips were cracked and sore but within hours of using this they were back to normal.
OK, I need some. We’re getting a Sephora soon! Much excitement.
.. I use Bepanthen cream for my lips too… it’s great for dry feet as well.. xxxx
.. hugs… Barb xxx
Isn’t it magic? I love it. đŸ™‚
Love go-to lips! Did you see they just released a new one with a pink tint! And Berts Bees is the bees knees! I keep a tube everywhere! Been wanting to try hurraw for ages too! And must give the bephanthen a go!
I did see they have pink now. Very exciting. đŸ™‚
I use Lansinoh (nipple balm for breastfeeding mums) as lip balm when I can’t find my Go-To!
Ah, I used that on my nipples. I didn’t know it could be used for lips too. Thanks for the heads up. đŸ™‚
I use Nivea’s milk and honey lip balm. It’s so nourishing and leaves your lips supple without being super slimy. I find it helps me a lot with avoiding split lips during winter.
Oh thank you! I’ll have to try that one. x
I need to get on to some of these and I’m going to try that Bepanthen on my poor old feet too.
