Plus size swimwear for every budget: My go-to shops 👙

It’s swim season! ☀️ Discover where I love to shop for plus size swimwear – there’s something for every shape, size and budgetfrom someone who wears swimwear every single day in summer. #obsessed

Plus Size Swimweaar

I don’t know if you’ve noticed (of course you’ve noticed!) but Summer is almost here. Like it’s actually just weeks away… and there’s swimming to be had.

Now, I am a beach lover, pool swimmer, creek paddler, river lover. If there’s water, I want in it, and to get in it – I need to be wearing swimwear, right?

Today I’m sharing a few places online that I like to shop for plus size swimwear. I love to swim, and swim every single day – so I need a handful of swimming costumes so I need a very good handful of them to get through summer – I have a rotation of about 8, I can go through 2-3 suits a day, for real.

There are not many options for shopping in person where I live, but I prefer to shop online – because it’s fast. If you do get a chance to shop in a store, do it. The women who work in swimwear stores are so knowledgable and supportive – it’s worth a try (and for the confidence boost!).

Where to buy plus size swimwear

Active Truth - plus size swimwear brand

Active Truth | Sizes 6 to 26

When I like something, I get a little bit excited and that’s what I have done this year. I bought one of the Active Truth swimsuits (in black), tried it and loved it, so bought two more (one in a size smaller, and another in green).

What’s to love? This is my first year trying out their swim range, but I know the Active Truth team are all about quality – so that’s a win for me. I love that it’s supportive in the bust without underwires, covers the bum and hips, and the fabric is supportive without being restrictive.

Artesands

Artesands | Sizes 12 to 28

In all honesty, I could almost fill this whole blog post with swimwear from Artesands, as it’s the swimwear that I seem to wear year after year. It’s just so well made, they understand curvy bodies – and create beautiful pieces.

What’s to love? I’ve owned a handful of Artesands swimsuits and they always deliver. Great coverage, brilliant fabrics, and fun designs. I swim a lot, and they never wear out… which is a big win because they last year after year.

Capriosca Swimwear

Capriosca Swimwear | Sizes 8 to 30

With loads of ever-changing designs and fabrics, Capricosa Swimwear is a fave of mine when I’m looking for something different – different to the black cossies I seem to always go for. I love their designs and trendy (but still with a dash of classic, styles).

What’s to love? They nail swimwear. There’s a reason why they’re a go-to for so many Aussie women. They do beautiful styles in fun, summery fabrics. I have had swimwear for years and years from this store, and they still look brand new. Very impressed with quality and styles.

Taking Shape

Taking Shape | Sizes 12 to 30

It’s no secret that I love Taking Shape, and I just saw they shot their swimwear range recently so I’m expecting to see some more swimwear popping up on site soon. They have really good sales too, so keep an eye out for those.

What’s to love? Taking Shape does generous sizing, with well made styles. These are great for those of us who don’t want anything too revealing, especially if you’re looking for swim shorts and rash vests.

BIG W

BIG W | Sizes 16 to 26

When I walked into BIG W about a month ago and saw all their new swimwear stock, I was delighted by the colours and styles – and all at affordable prices.

What’s to love? Well, for starters, the prices. I generally grab one cossie from BIG W each year to add into my rotation. They are cheap and cheerful and may only last a season, but they do the job and I still love my pick from last year. If you don’t already have a full sleeve rash vest, grab one from here this year!

Saint Somebody plus size swimwear options

Saint Somebody | Sizes 8 to 24

Saint Somebody does the most stunning classical styles and shapes, in beautiful fabrics. I own a black swimsuit from this brand, which is sadly too small for me right now, but the quality is so stunning I can’t wait to be able to wear it soon.

What’s to love? The styles! Look how gorgeous they are. They understand women’s bodies and dressing them in stylish shapes. They also have some of the best fabrics I’ve ever experienced in swimwear. There’s lots to love.

City Chic - one of my faves for plus size swimwear

City Chic | Sizes 12 to 24

Every summer City Chic brings out the most fun styles, with one pieces and bikinis for curvy bodies. They also do some great sales too, so there could be a bargain in your future – although don’t wait too long (I’ve made that mistake before) as they sell out quickly.

What’s to love? The fun designs and styles. There’s something for every body.

ASOS

ASOS | Sizes 14 to 28

We can always rely on ASOS to deliver beautiful swimwear, with sometimes a more edgier (read: sexier) touch. I love checking out what they have every year. They also do really great beach cover-ups too.

What’s to love? ASOS always does fun styles, great colours, and often bargain-priced pieces – which makes me smile every time.

Cotton On

Cotton On | Sizes 4 to 24

I had one swimsuit from Cotton On last year and the year before, and while it didn’t offer much support – my gosh it was super comfy to wear. They come in a whole range of colours too!

What’s to love? One word: Comfort. This swimsuit is super soft and comfortable, and comes in a range of colours – I’m loving the bright colours!

Friends, I’d love to know… where do you prefer to swim? Pool, beach, or river?
