Hello. I’m writing this from the darkness of my room at crazy o’clock because I’ve come to learn that my sweet friend, Pregnancy Insomnia, doesn’t discriminate. She’ll kindly visit when I’m away too {and have the whole bed to myself and a jam-packed itinerary that leaves no time for tired, cranky people}. Sigh. 3am, we really, truly do need to break up.
I’m away at the moment on a work trip. Well, work with a bit of fun injected into it. But don’t tell Lacey. She’s under the illusion that it’s purely work and boring stuff. Thankfully she doesn’t read my blog {yet} so here’s my week as I saw it through my iPhone.
Exploring markets up the coast // Raw salad {recipe to come}
Off on my work trip. I always arrive early. Sometimes too early. // ‘Borrowing’ some power at the airport {Hubby tells me in his best cop voice that it’s actually stealing. Whoops}.
One plane ride {with a very, very friendly co-passenger} and a ferry ride later, we arrive // Meeting Veggie Mama. By far, highlight of my trip
On a blogging conference trip with my agency and Tourism Queensland. Love the mask. Pity it doesn’t help the sleeping situation // The pool. We haven’t met yet.
Morning // Tried to find a pink one amongst these babies. No luck.
Time for a little kaftan attire {and an awkward selfie} // On the way to Whitehaven Beach after the conference
I’ll take the Go Pro, she said. I’ll take awesome photos, she said. Instead I took 522 photos of nothing. I need lessons. // Whitehaven Beach. Simply amazing.
Dinner with 15 talkative bloggers // Full moon
The best bit of my week
I’ve never really had colleagues. Well, not the sort that sit in the cubicle next to you, chatting to you throughout the day. I worked as a nanny, then from home as an Editor and now as a blogger/freelance writer. It’s always fun to get together with people you work with or alongside, especially because it happens so rarely. So, spending this few days with other bloggers is refreshing and fun, and inspiring too. Plus, I’m in Queensland and it’s pretty much perfection. It’s hard to not feel grateful, really.
The best bit of my week was giving away copies of “Defining Moments for Therapists,” 11 chapters of how THERAPISTS change, coedited with Serge Prengel. Available at Amazon or free download http://lifesherpa.com/therapists/.
The best bit of my week was playing UNO by the fire with my kids. Their hysterical laughter is such a magic sound. Simple, but I loved it.
Uno is the best game. It’s our family favourite. Might have to introduce it to Lacey. And maybe I’ll let her win sometimes.
what a gorgeous place to have insomnia – though I know that’s no comfort!
Highlight of my week was listening to my daughters laughing and playing celebrity head with their third generation younger cousins. Would love to have been where you were. Looks fabulous.
Gorgeous pics! A blogger conference would have been awesome especially at whitehaven! Just beautiful!
It looks like you’re having a fantastic week! The highlight of my week was a lovely afternoon tea with good friends yesterday. Beautiful weather, yummy food, and kids playing outside happily. Enjoy the rest of your trip x
the best part of my week was the smell of apple blossoms in full bloom. it was a long, dark and colorless winter here in germany.
Well the best part of my week was going to a Birth Centre appointment with one of my follow through women. I can’t believe the difference in care. The midwife spent an hour with her talking through issues, previous birth, diet, exercise. Such a welcome change from the long wait in the waiting room for a 10min consult at best with regular ante-natal care
That sounds so good. It’s so important!
Clare I actually started to well up during the appointment as it there was a real level of caring and understanding for the woman as an individual not just a mother to be, or a pregnant woman
Best part of my week was coming home tonight and my sons (14 & 15) had supper ready………without being told. After a really busy day…….it was fabulous.
My daughter’s second birthday. : )
Alone time with my husband for our anniversary. It doesn’t happen enough.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your kaftan, in your non-awkward but very lovely selfie
You were totally my highlight too! #romance
Loved hanging out with you Chantelle and getting sore tummy muscles from laughing so hard! I really love that selfie photo of you too–radiant
Love my very short break in the Hilton in Sydney over night. And the Samsung phone Product Launch in the Opera House. Hard to come back to life after that 🙂
It was great to spend a few days together in paradise Chantelle and get to know you just a little bit. Hopefully we can catch up somewhere up the line.
