I don’t mean to scare anyone, and by anyone I mean me… but there are less than 90 days until we have a baby. That means there are just 90 days until our little family of 3 becomes 4. This excites me, and scares me. It’s kinda a big deal.

I’m almost ready though. The room is coming along {I’ll share it when it’s done}, the clothes have been washed and the cot has been assembled. Lacey has been so patient. She knows that my Lil Sis has to give birth first, so I’m sure once her little cousin is here she’ll be pestering me to deliver this one too.

I didn’t have a baby shower for my first baby. If there’s one thing I don’t quite like, it’s being the centre of attention. I love hanging out with people I adore though, so instead of a baby shower we stayed at a beautiful hotel, had massages and high tea and made sure the attention was equally shared among the group. Just how I like it.

And this time around I wanted to do something a little bit special. We’ve been a family of 3 for so long now, that I thought it would be nice to get friends and family together and celebrate with a Before Baby Party. There will be delicious food, fun games, lots of baby talk {I’m sure among the girls… the boys… notsomuch} and it will be a chance for Lacey to hang out with friends too. A little celebration.

But a celebration wouldn’t be complete without my virtual family too, you guys. So next month I’ve got some really exciting things planned. I have an awesome giveaway every single day, with a pram, a cot, clothes, beauty products and so much more. It’s almost $10,000 worth of really cool prizes.

And Tommee Tippee Miomee have ever-so-kindly offered to host my little Before Baby Party, so there will be goodies for you too. More details on that to come. I love those guys. I’ve already started pinning like crazy on Pinterest. Feel free to take a peek here.

If you’re pregnant {congratulations!} or have a new bubba on your hands, I’ve put together a great bundle of products that you can purchase from Tommee Tippee Miomee. It’s everything I think you’ll need to get started with feeding your baby, whether you’re bottle feeding or expressing. It’s what I have at home ready for this little one’s arrival. The shipping is free, and it’s all bundled together to take the stress out of shopping {plus you get a sweet discount too of 20% off, just use the code FMSBabyShower – so it’s affordable to boot!}. You can see the bundle here.

A few notes on the bundle offer: You’ll need to create an account to purchase the bundle {and log in}, one offer per customer, not valid with any other offers or coupons, and the offer ends on August 31st 2013 at 11:59pm.

How to make a sweet baby shower invite or baby announcement:

How to make a sweet & easy baby shower invite

So while I might not like being the centre of attention, I do love making people feel special. So I’ve helped throw a baby shower or too in my time. I’ve made these invites in the past, and they’re so cute and easy to make. If you’re pregnant and planning on a baby shower, or even wanting some sweet ways to announce that your baby has arrived, this might be just what you’re looking for. Here’s how to make them:

1. Head over to Martha Stewart and print out the template. If you print it at 100% they’ll be quite small, so you might like to print them out, and photocopy them at 300% or 400%.

2. Choose a paper that you love to use for the nappy. You could use wrapping paper, or what I like to use is something with a bit of thickness. If you go to a craft shop you can buy a square of scrapbooking paper. You’ll need a few, but they have some great designs. You’ll also need to grab some ribbon too.

3. Trace the template on to the back of the paper of your choice, and cut out the templates.

4. Fold them according to the template, and cut holes using a hole punch where instructed.

5. Thread some ribbon through the holes and tie a neat bow. Trim as required.

6. Depending on what size nappy you’ve decided to make, you’ll need to measure for how big your actual invite should be. You can get personalised invites made on Etsy for around $15 and then print them out at home {or at a local photo place or Officeworks}. Our Before Baby Party Invites are from this Etsy store.

Did you {or will you} have a Baby Shower or a little celebration before the baby arrived? I’d love to hear all the juicy details, including games, food, the invites and the cake!

  1. I’ve not had a baby shower for this wee one (no chance of me enjoying cake or other yummy food, so technically not a party in my view!) but we might do a meet the Bean after party. If we do I’ll be sure to have a go at these invites.

  2. Chantelle I wish this was posted about a month ago, my baby shower is this Sunday! Would of loved to make cute invites like these. Of course my friend is hosting it so I wasnt allowed to do the invites anyway. I am in the dark as to most of the details. I know the food will include fruit platters, dips, cupcakes quiche etc and punch. I will be doing a post about it on my blog afterwards for sure.

  3. Hi Chantelle, this is perfect for my upcoming baby shower which is organising for July. By any chance have you trialled this new baby gift registry service RockABub?
